King of Kings
Legendary Grand PrixSince the beginning of MMA there has always been the hotly debated topic of who deserves the label of the best fighter of all time... the King of Kings. With recent developments in our game, MMArmy, we are afforded the opportunity that the real sport will never have, the chance to crown such a champion. And with that I introduce you to the King of Kings, Legendary Grand Prix.
PremiseKing of Kings is a tournament utilizing the new legend fight system. The goal is to have as large a tournament as possible, and crown the King of Kings in MMArmy.
Rules-Entering a fighter into the tournament will cost 1 credit. (You will not need to purchase legend fights as you normally would for this, as MKick will assign the credits needed for the tournament to work. You just need to have the available credits in your account.)
-Each person can enter a maximum of 5 fighters.
-The cutoff date for entry is 1/18/10.
-The tournament starts 1/22/10.
-To enter a fighter, post the link to his page, or his ID number in this thread. (The ID number is the number at the end of the URL of the fighters page.)
-If you're entering fighters from different camps, PM the Godfather your Camp ID that the credits will be resting in, and the Camp ID of the camp you will be moving credits to, along w/ how many credits will be moved. i.e. Camp A has 10 credits, Camp A ID uses 3 credits, Camp B ID uses 1 credit, and Camp C ID uses 1 credit. The credits will be redistributed after the cutoff date, so patience is required.
-Fighters will be divided into 4 (equally distributed) brackets based on the recruitment date of the fighter. The 4 brackets are...
+Forefathers Bracket (The oldest quarter of the tournament)
+Pioneers Bracket (The second oldest quarter of the tournament)
+Elite Bracket (The second newest quarter of the tournament)
+Modern Bracket (The newest quarter of the tournament)
-Amongst each bracket fighters will be seeded according to Highest Ranking, then number of EFC Titles, then Seniority.
EDIT 12/21/09: We do not require a traditional tournament number (32,64, etc). In allowing everyone to participate without a specific number, bye rounds will be based on the seeding.
In the odd event of a tie, the seed will be random.
-Each week one round of the tournament will be completed. One person in each fight will given a Legend Fight token (and be notified of their responsibility) and they are to challenge their opponent (to a catchweight bout) between Friday AM Rest and Saturday PM Reset. The challenged fighter must accept between (whenever they receive the fight) and Monday AM Reset.
-If a person doesn't hold up to their requirements that fighter will be disqualified from the tournament. (I'm able to check dates and times for all of these things)
-The winners of the 4 brackets will go on to challenge each other in a final four man tournament.
Fighter Requirements-The fighter must have a highest ranking of at least #10
OR-The fighter must have achieved at least 1 EFC Championship
-Requirements may be loosened in the future to accommodate a larger tournament
EDIT 12/19/09: Requirements loosened to allow one or the other, not both as originally intended.
PrizesPrizes will distributed to the four finalists of this tournament, who will be given credits for their victories, as well as the bragging rights. The amount given in the prizes will be determined by the number of participants.
