I always thought there was no reason not to have open rolling enrollment. I can see no downfall to it in any way nor do i see any way it can be abused or manipulated. Allowing 1 entrant per player is the only rule you need to make clear. Starting late is only detrimental to the player which is starting late and benefits no one.

As Chachi said the only extra weight that gets added is on the writeup team. In most cases though by the time each write up is posted there are several guys that have withdrawn from teh tournament so it's almost a wash there too.

With regard to the current situation the rule was "in by x day and time." If you applied it to one person it should be applied to the next in the same way that if you bent it for one then you bend for the next.

YUP Totally agree!!!! I feel the same way, whatever Rules that were set prior to the comp should be strictly followed.

lotta arguing and debate all over not letting one pixel rendered guy enter a fantasy tourney to win a pixel rendered belt. doesn't that seem a little silly? rules are there to keep integrity, i agree, but there is a time to take a step back and realize it's not a very serious situation and it makes (in my opinion) no sense that the lock is even in place in the first place. if i sign up a month and a half late, im only hurting myself by entering a less qualified younger fighter and adding participation to your tourney also.

anyway, i haven't said anything about the subject anywhere else but since i see a lot of arguing going on in this thread about my guy i figured i should speak my mind on the issue.

Every player who has ever turned in a fighter late has not been allowed... so the rule has been applied to everybody.

The post your fighter was up for 2 and a half weeks, plenty of time for everybody that wants to get in to do so. Everybody is more than welcomed to have a tournament w/ a rolling entry date, i'm not interested in making the MCC like that. In a race, people all start on the gun right, it's not like someone just comes up 5 minutes late like i'm gonna start racing now lol.

There was someone who fought early, so they sat out the PM reset so there was no advantage. During the day Mr.Wunderfull told me he had fought the AM session, and I told him to just sit out that PM so there was no advantage. It turned out he was joking, but if people want to think i'm playing favorites because the guy who fought early is TLCS, then that is for them to decide.

also, everyone understands your first point that its how its been done forever. but i think the general consensus is that there is no reason to turn down those guys except for the reason that you feel its so necessary. its not like if you let one or two more guys in then 9000 people are going to all of a sudden enter. this forum only has a few active people anyway. if its within a few hours (like it was in my guys case) or even a day or so, then why not? but in all honestly, i could care less if my guy gets in the tourney or not so it really doesnt matter anyway.

Look sov a RULE is a RULE stop fighting this! lol. you wont win! your guy and my MCC MW will have their own MCC.

that way you can still do an MCC and have competition.

i think the rule is there to make the comp easier for the people that signed up. they want people to fall off and quit without anyone coming in that way they increase thier odds off winning. if i guy falls off there should be an opening to fill the gap to keep the integrity of the competition. who wants to win when there are only 20% of the people left playing. maybe in a real race that is satisfying but in reality its not a race it is a roll of the dice that limits strategy use and skill. its a comp made for trainers with no skill so they will have even odds to win against trainers with skill since hiddens are unknown and there are restrictive enterant rules.
