Yes body triangles are deadly... But Blaze I've never heard of a leg triangle, or is that just a triangle from guard? Or something much more difficult?

Just a triangle from guard, though I'll lock 'em up (and sometimes finish them) from mount or side control too.

Nice I've tried to finish a couple triangles from side control but I can't ever seem to get it good. I've gotten the inverted triangle from mount down pretty good, one of my favorite moves.

I'm 5'11" and walk around about 155, so pretty long. I'm also very flexible in the spine and hips (I can lock my feet behind my head BJ Penn-style) , so I play a really high guard, almost a rubber guard position, switching back-and-forth between locking both legs up high and dropping one leg into half-spider guard.

The leg triangle was really the first submission I could finish with any regularity, so I used it a lot. After about a month everyone I roll with started defending triangles a lot better, so I had to learn omoplatas and armbars.

Boo to all this logic and evidence for body triangles...

I just find it annoying that there seem to be body triangle submissions but I never see brabo chokes, arm-in guillotines or achilles locks all of which I see a lot more in MMA.

I'm so sick of my LW superstar not getting any fights except for Gnp'ers trying to move up. It's going to be a waste of talent, as he doesn't have many years left.

I find it ironic, too. Seeingas how there are MANY LWs, compared to all of the other weight classes...it does make somewhat of a waste.

Thanks for pointing out the lack of d'arce and brabo chokes, I'll bring it up next time I talk to shalabi about new pbp text. I don't really distinguish between arm-in and arm-out guillotines in general so it hasn't bothered me in game play. I think Achilles locks are in there, they're just called "ankle locks."

And anyway, talking about a sub that no one needs to tap to, an Achilles lock just hurts - no ligament, tendon, or muscle damage, just pain. I'll fight an Achilles lock for a week.

I'm a little drunk right now, but who is talking about a body triangle as a sub? Does that happen in this game? All a body triangle does is control your opponent. It's not a sub technique. I'm confused.

It should be in the game a lot if it sets up a sub or strikes that can't be defended.

Yah, we're talking about MMArmy fights ending with Submission (Body Triangle).

What we came to after much discussion is that under the right circumstances (the correct proportion of leg-length to torso width and good technique, Shogun vs. Overeem, Fryklund vs. Salaverry) that a body triangle CAN force a submission. It's not generally a submission technique but, like a can opener, some people will submit to it.
