RULES
Games will be
3 Innings. Extra Innings will apply with sudden death rules. *Home team will always have an inning to counter like in real life.
Away team will start on Offense.
Home team will select a fighter from their pitching staff to fight initially. That fighter will fight each Away team fighter in order after a line up is submitted. (The Pitching team can switch out Pitchers whenever they want but will not be able to bring back a pitcher they already used).
For Example:
(Home) Pitcher vs Short Stop (Away)
(Home) Pitcher vs Left Fielder (Away)
(Home) Pitcher vs Designated Hitter (Away)
Now if the Pitcher wins a fight that is considered an OUT. 3 OUTS and the inning is over and the alliances swap on Defense and Offense.
If the batter wins then things are dependent on the outcome of the fight.
Split Decision = A hit to the Infield. (Offensive alliance then chooses an infielder to fight the batter. Catchers are excluded).
Unanimous Decision = A hit to the Outfield. (Offensive alliance then chooses an outfielder to fight the batter).
Finish = Home Run (Point for Batters)
Now if the batter hits to the infield and faces an infielder then the results go like this =
SD = Out
UD = Single
Finish = DoubleIf the batter hits to the Oufield and faces an Outfielder then the results go like this =
SD = Single
UD = Double
Finish = TripleIt will be incumbent upon the batter to select which fielder he wants to face immediately following victory I DO NOT WANT this event to get hung up on people going back and forth to check with their alliance on who they should pick. Have an idea of who you want to face in your head before you even get up to bat.
RUNNERS ON BASE NOTES -
---This will mean runners will get on base and will be knocked around if concurrent batters are successful.
---If a runner is on First Base and another batter gets a single then the runner ends up on Second Base.
---If a runner is on Second Base and another batter gets a single then runners will be on Third Base and First Base.
---If a runner is on First Base and a batter hits a double then the runner previously on base ends up on Third Base.
---If a runner is on Second Base and the batter hits a double then the runner previously on base will score and a point is awarded.
There will be no limits as far as camps or coaches are concerned. Go nuts and fill your squad with your best.
Medals will be issued for 1st and 2nd Place
Medal will be issued for Skip Lange MVP Award Winner.
Medal will be issued for the Drew Brown Pitcher of the Event.CHANGES/ADDENDA MADE 7/12/16
Adding 2 "Bench" Players - This will let the teams have a bit more variability with their lineups, adds a little extra strategy, and it can help alleviate some gaps in activity. It seems like a lot of alliances have one or two guys that will miss time with summer vacations, and whatnot, and this will allow the teams to respond in the same way the pitchers will be able to if one of the coaches goes AWOL. Bench players may be used as substitutions for batters either through pinch hit, defensive replacement, or may simply swap places with a starter in the lineup before a game.
How DQ's will work - A DQ for the batter will result in an OUT. A DQ for the Pitcher will result in a walk. Having DQ's means there has to be an established expectation for what will constitute a DQ, thus...
Expected Pace-of-Play - It will be expected that one at-bat will be completed every reset AT THE VERY LEAST. Coaches will always be given the minimum of one complete reset to complete an at-bat, but any amount of time exceeding this will be subject to disqualification at the discretion of the league's commissioner, Me (or Chief in games involving SFL to avoid bias). Whether you are the batter, or the pitcher, the player that SENDS THE CHALLENGE will be protected from disqualification.
