PREL - FLY - Hans SWANSON (C) vs. Sam DANIELSSON

The title shot we had all been waiting for at this point, and one we at Gustafsson's did a great job of preparing Danielsson for the most part. We have only gotten our hands on one other Preliator Belt and that was a while ago at HW with Carl. This IS our first title shot at the Prel level for Sammy Boy, riding a 3 fight win streak but he is not facing some slouch. Swanwson beat Bryant for the belt(Who is rumored to have signed an EFC deal) and has defended the belt TWICE with a 4 fight win streak. It was only a matter of time before those two collided again.

Yeah, that's right. AGAIN. Danielsson crushed Hans in the first round of their first bout due to a Ref's Stoppage for the UNO FC belt-- Which was a historic moment for our gym. Swanson is much improved since then and has GROWN as an overall fighter and finisher.

Round 1

Danielsson snaps back the head of Hans Swanson with a stiff jab. Sam Danielsson dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Danielsson hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Sam connects with a hard straight to the body. Hans drops to a knee in pain giving Sam the opportunity to finish him off with strikes.

And your winner by TKO and .... NEW PRELIATOR FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION .... !

Sam Danielsson wins by TKO (Punches)

HOLY COW! EVERYONE FLOODED THE OCTAGON AND BULL RUSHED DANIELSSON! I have never been more proud of Sammy boy in my life as he proved that all he needed to do was change his ways and train proper to become a high quality champion. He has won at every level thus far, so I can't exactly doubt him... Even though I know he'll use this as an excuse to pick chicks up.

Swanson got stopped by Danielsson in the first round again, absolutely picked apart in the first round by Sam's body shot. Swanson can be an EFC level fighter but he seems to struggle against some fighters with the 'IT' factor like Arnold or Danielsson.
Tears welled up in my eyes as he gathered around for a gym photo with Danielsson, well before .. Isak lifts Sam up and slams him to the ground! Man, Hansen has been eager to fight and it's really all he knows how to do. It's a special moment and we all prepare for Danielsson to finally defend a belt but the curse continues ...

I got a call. I was about to renew Sammy boy's deal with Preliator but this was something ELSE. The head manager of the EFC came calling for the one and only Sam Danielsson. Sammy boy jumped at the opportunity.

EFC has acquire Preliator FLYWEIGHT Champion, Sweden's very own ... Sam Danielsson.

It's crazy. Danielsson would be fighting in the premier MMA organization in the world and one step loser to his dreams. He always wanted to fight in the EFC, well .. Here's his shot.

WE MADE IT!

Super rare to have one of your initial recruits be this successful. The MMARMY gods are smiling on you for making a creative hype thread!

How can you still only have 6 fighters though!?? Buy some more of those suckers.

Hard to do write ups and personalities for each. I technically 'retired' Charlie, and Kevin is on 'break'. Hansen just training a bit but he'll make his debut soon.

I'm 42 and don't feel a day younger at this point but the gym has come along nicely, despite the retirements of nearly all my fighters that had joined me on this journey at the start.

Gabe left the gym for the most part and pursued his passion in surfing, even though I definitely believe he had EFC champion potential hidden within. Unfortunate, but he still drops by from time to time.

The brute Isak returned back to his native country and I haven't heard from him since which is unfortunate but you can't always expect to have a great relationship with each fighter.

Kevin was supposed to be the gym's superstar, we groomed him carefully but it wasn't enough. His good looksdid not translate in much monetary gain for us, but he did launch several books on work out routines and most notably 'Road to the ULTIMATE 6 pack' and 'Shredded Physique for Dummies'. He fought in the EFC but was far from a contender. Despite the bumps in his road, I am proud of the kid for having a career going.

Carl Wang is STILL at it. Over a hundred fights and he is still taking up MMA as a full time occupation and providing for his family. He isn't the biggest of names overall in the EFC but he is huge in Sweden. Still shy as always, the family has done well to carve out a respectable career. He is currently on a 5 fight win-streak in the EFC, but we will need to ride a lot of momentum of he truly wants one last title shot. His body has been having trouble keeping up in training so it might just be time for him to hang 'em up, but even he is aware of that. Regardless? He made a good living off fighting. Good luck Carl!

I never thought Sammy boy truly had it in him to become an EFC champion given his womanizing ways but he became a 2 time Champion and was on pace to win it yet again, that was until injuries got to him and he was unable to continue on without being destroyed mentally. Danielsson is widely known by most MMA fans and when they think of Swedish fighters as of recent? They always name Sam.

Can't believe we did this, but Sammy boy had a statue of himself made and put it on the fucking roof of the gym! Usually I would kick his ass, but I just didn't have the heart to do it this time. He brought the gym so much joy and his laser focus when challenged was second to none. I will always remember Danielsson through out the years for granting me my wish. EFC gold.

Thank you, Sammy boy.

We've had quite a few guys at our gym lately and some young promising prospects. Charlie has been in charge for training most of them alongside me, and Kevin provides meal plans for free every now and then. Carl is still training for his upcoming EFC bouts and Danielsson drops by here and there to pick on the new kids. He has really taken the finish kid Samuel Pajari under his wing given their first names being so close. Hah, but there will always only be one Sammy boy to me.

Will Soldberg, Ruotsalainen and Pajari be able to succeed the previous heroes and make a name for themselves? I sure hope so because Gustafsson's Wrestling is far from cementing a legacy at this point.
