Carl got pretty comfortable, but after defeating fellow Swede Isak Stendahl in a grueling 5 round battle? He wanted to test out the ABC. A good run for the title, I honestly believe Carl could last a little longer since ABC's Heavyweight division isn't all that large. Tough matches, all of them.
He only agreed if the first match he has of the 3 fight contract is in Sweden infront of his family. ABC - HW - Hitoshi KADA vs. Carl WANGThis Japanese is one tough customer, his 5 fight win streak just ended to a knock out by he's still considered very skilled and one of the better HWs in ABC. We trained for this, but things can be hectic. What will happen when Carl goes up against great fighters?Kada connect with his combination and easily backs out of a counter. None of Carl's attempts at striking seem to be landing, he should posture up more and mix in some kicks. Wang finally connects with a strike that sends Kada tumbling, but the Japanese HW quickly recovers. He's staggered with another jab from Carl, who gets a little too confident and throws a kick which is countered by a clean overhand to the nose.
"Okay, Carl. We need to keep this up standing, trade with him when need be and if you do take him down? Try to get proper positioning and impose your STRENGTH on him."
I knew from the start that Kada is a submission specialist, so i'll need to help Carl can endure and bang with this Jap. The round starts off with an exchange, before Kada seems to sink in a KIMURA! Carl barely slides out, not good. Hitoshi expertly moves on the ground, and even i'm surprised by his strength. Carl does try a submission attempt, but is thwarted easily-- This wasn't good Carl.
"I'd say keep it on the feet, but you may need to finish him. You're big and might just be the next big thing in Sweden. Go in there and -win-."
Carl lands a jab, but misses with the follow up. The Japanese HW misses with the haymaker, and Carl quickly capitalizes by taking his back. Kada does the right thing by keeping Carl close to avoid strikes, but Wang has him caught in guard now--Round over.
I'm not sure who won, but it went to a decision. I'm expecting a split if anything. Praying for Carl.Carl "Gentle Giant" Wang wins by Unanimous Decision
That first and third round sealed the deal, and I have ABC talking to be about a potential title shot. Already?

Newcomer Carl does not exactly have anyone to fight at the moment, but we've been thinking about taking on that beast Otto Simmons--The winner likely faces the new Champion Shin No--Who has nearly 40 wins! A true veteran. Otto Simmons is 7-1, and his only loss coming by knockout and we all know he won't need to worry about that against Carl.
Otto is a finisher but we're going to extend that offer to give Carl a shot at the ABC title.
Charlie NEEDs to defend his belt, so we decided to send an offer to Bento Feijo who is on a 2 fight win-streak in Jungle Scrap, but if he doesn't? It will be Charlie against experienced Lima Rua and I am worried.
Danielsson stays training, not really prepared to fight those vicious Preliator fighters yet but Gabe is also looking for something now--Undefeated beast Dario Alejandro. It took me some scouting, but I finally decided to add another fighter to our active gym. When we went to Norway for one of Danielsson's ABC fights, I noticed his talent entirely. A powerful wrestler that can be a solid addition.Isak Hansen First non Swede apart of our active roster, looking forward to this.

JSCRAP - BW - So Min RHEE vs. Gabe ANDERSSON Rhee makes his professional debut here in the JScrap BW division, but I knew this would be a relatively even fight for Gabe who was still getting some experience under his belt. Losing to Red Rum Robinson was tough, but here's another chance. Gabe didn't really train for this bout either, as usual so that gives me a bit of pause every time he fights.Gabe manages a jab before executing a clean hip takedown, passing Rhee's guard but takes some punishment doing so though .. Gabe does land some nice shots, before Rhee scrambles out and escapes to his feet. Andersson does what he do best, goes for the takedown--Which is stuffed, but he is able to out muscle the Korean and takes the fight to the ground. He keeps active and peppers So Min with a few punches here and there before applying a RNC, which gets delayed by the Korean's hand movements but Gabe's abilities prove to be too much as he taps. Gabe "Vegan Surfer" Andersson wins by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Back on track for Gabe, a pretty dominant performance. I talk to one of the Jscrap promoters backstage and he says that Feijo won't be able to take the fight so I have to prepare Vinter to handle the more experienced Lima Rua for his title defense.
Charlie better pull through, or he'll just be known as an average fighter. Glass chin but dynamite hands.

JSCRAP - FW - Lima RUA vs. Charlie VINTER (C)The opponents just get tougher and tougher for Charlie, and this is no different. Rua is great at bjj and has submission threat--Something Charlie has difficulty with. Danielsson is ACTUALLY training as hard as he can for his next bout, and he's only training because it might be against Song. Vengeance? We'll see.Charlie starts things off with a hook to the body, but misses the straight. A wild hook from Vinter is easily dodged and countered by a cross-hook to the body. I find it quite interesting that Lima is willing to stand up with Charlie. Rua lands with several jabs, before taking a strong hook from Charlie that forms a welt under his eye. Rua connects with a sweet uppercut, followed by a hard hook. Charlie circles away from Rua but lands strong kicks to the Brazilian's lead leg.
"You need to be more active in the stand up, Charlie. Bring the fight to him and pressure the idiot."
Charlie does exactly what I told him to starting off, building momentum by landing a few jabs to the face of Lima, but Rua does a good job of keeping Charlie at bay. Rua is connecting quite a big with his leg kick combinations, followed through with a hook. Unfortunately, Charlie loses his momentum as he catches him with an eye poke. It takes some odd seconds before the two get ready to go. Rua eats a stiff leg to the face, before landing a beautiful overhand to set up a double ankle pick.
"Charlie, buddy that can easily be 2 rounds for him. Work hard and stay up, strike with your power and make sure you connect with your hands."
Vinter comes out swinging but misses the mark, strikes with a ball kick to open up for a push kick to the mid section. I like Charlie's energy here so far. Rua parries a jab, but gets hit with a powerful kick to the ribs. Charlie connects with a kick, and hook. Nice going. They exchange outside leg kicks before the round ends.
"That's EXACTLY what I want to see, alright? You're starting to land and it's about time he goes down. Keep the pressure going.
Vinter evades a jab, landing a kick to Rua's ribs again--He's hurt! I can tell from his facial expression that Charlie's strikes were landing well. Rua spends too much time winding up a straight and is met with a hard knee to the body. Vinter starts connecting with his lead uppercut that is followed by a hard hook. Charlie easily shucks Rua's kick and crashes an overhand into the Brazilian's face. The two start trading, but the round ends.
"This final round decides it all, Charlie. You're the Champ and he wants to take it away from you. Vinter, you want to fight the best of the best well here you go. Keep that belt. Win. You have the momentum so keep that striking going."
They start off by circling, but Charlie takes a punch before going to the mat. Fuck! Charlie gets absolutely dominated on the ground, as we had pretty much expected. Vicious knees start raining in to the body. They start rolling, but Rua keeps busy with peppering strikes. I don't like this as the round winds down.
Not sure if Charlie wins, i'm a bit split. Your Jungle Scrap FW Champion is ... Still!
Charlie Vinter wins by Unanimous Decision
Seems like rounds 1,3,4 sealed the deal for us Phew.

It's going to be a pretty insane time for us at Gustafsson Wrestling, since we DO have a great line up of fights. Charlie still looks to defend his belt yet again, finally getting his name out there to the point where I think even ABC is taking note.JSCRAP - BW - Title Vacancy - Gabe ANDERSSON vs. Nathan BECKER We have to train Gabe to deal with a really talented Canadian wrestler, but that's been the main problem. Gabe still doesn't want to train-- At this rate he might never leave JSCRAP. Sam himself is training HARD for his upcoming rematch against Song in his first Preliator belt but it hasn't rubbed off onto Gabe. This Nathan guy knows what he's doing, immediately shoots in for the takedown and slams Gabe to the ground! Insane strength. It was rough to watch, as Gabe did struggle, but couldn't get back up onto his feet due to the ground strikes Nathan was laying into him. Luckily, he survives the round. Phew.
"Gabe what the hell was that? You didn't do a single thing that round. Stop being so lazy and take the fight to him. Control the ground game."
Jab, jab and hook from Gabe as he manages a good combination. Becker responds with his own storm of punches, sending Gabe to the mat but luckily our Vegan surfer recovers just in time. Gabe keeps the fight standing with a nice hook, but misses with the power straight. They seem to be trading but no opening for either guy.
"Gabe, you did some things right but got knocked down to your ass. It's 2-0 for him, you should amp things up. Sink in a choke."
Andersson connects with a combination and moves away from any counter. Becker pushes Gabe to the fence after grabbing a single leg, the two struggling for positional control. Gabe does a great job keeping his place, but ends up taking several unanswered knees to the mid section. Nathan seems to be taking the round over with precise strikes in the clinch, but Gabe tries to answer with a standing Kimura--Doesn't pan out, Nathan shoots for a takedown but it just ends up in an awkward scramble. Becker connects with a sharp punch, prompting Gabe to enter a clinch.
"Listen, Gabe. You need to look for an opening and get a submission. We can't let this go to the judges now. Come on."
Gabe does good landing with a jab as Nathan was winding a hook, only to cave in Andersson's nose with a powerful overhand. Gabe got lazy, it seems like he's gassed as his shot goes entirely wide and now his back is taken. Gabe does a good job disrupting the submission attempts, wiggling out of back control. The Canadian lets him escape and they end up on their feet. Becker doubles up on the jab, only to be tripped down by Gabe! Round over.
"You got ONE round to do this. If you really want to be a Champion and surf the biggest of waves, finis the job. You're the best submission artist in the gym--Prove it here."
Andersson starts off by getting the better of the stand up game, and then goes in for a take down! Good try by Gabe, but Nathan stuffs it and answers with an outside body kick. This Nathan guy is really having trouble standing with Gabe, but Andersson has very little knock out threat-- Or at least nothing I am aware of. I'm thoroughly impressed by the Canadian guy, as he has Gabe pressed against the cage but isn't content with that. Andersson is quite strong and Becker can't out muscle him, but uses a valley drop that FLOORS Gabe! Becker stands over him and lands some good punches standing, but Gabe grabs an arm and pulls him into guard. Fight over!
I'm thoroughly disappointed. Gabe started trying when the fight was already over. He's great at submissions, but seems to falter at every Championship bout. Maybe he doesn't want to be a MMA fighter for real.
Nathan Becker wins by Unanimous Decision

PREL - FLY - MAIN EVENT - Sam DANIELSSON vs. Dong Wan SONGGustafsson Wrestling's first major exposure and it's a MASSIVE one. We finally get our re-match against the elusive and athletic Dong Wan Song, who was looking to be a dominant Champion before getting stopped in his last fight. Sammy boy has been training like a demon, in the gym and preparing just like he was against Graves. It was a tough split decision, but Danielsson lost his ABC Flyweight belt due to it.
Danielsson can put the EFC on notice by coming through this. Main event in Houston, Texas over in the States. Preliator is looking to see how Sam performs in his debut too. Look, I know that Song is way more experienced, but i've never seen Sam more focused than this. He's ready for REVENGE!This does not start off good, as Sam looks out of his depth early--Has Song gained far more experience being Preliator Champ? God damn. Danielsson is rocked early, but quickly shakes it off. Dong Wan connects with a combination and then hops away. He does flips and manages a hook kick, leaving me nervous. Song was picking Danielsson apart. A hard punch by Song brings the fight into a clinch.
"Danielsson, you can't ease up. You let him dominate you in the striking department, I want you to take him to the mat and ruin his life."
Danielsson starts the fight off right by landing a hard punch, the two fighters end up in a clinch where Sammy boy unleashes knees to the midsection. Danielsson has him tied up and DELIVERS AN UPPERCUT! Danielsson fakes a shot and presses Song up against the cage, dragging Dong Wan to the ground. Sammy boy does a good job opening his guard and lands two quick strikes before the round ends.
"That's what I want to see, Sammy boy. It's not over though, we're aware of that. Take the fight to him, drag that fucker to the ground like before and punish him. He's completely lost down there."
The problem here is that Sam let Song establish his groove and go through with his stance, Song landing a nice kick to the ribs. They end up clinching after an exchange, but Song gets in position to land piston shots. Danielsson works for that Kimura, but is pushed away by Song. A lovely kick from Song forces Sammy boy back, but then Danielsson is caught square on the jaw and dropped to the canvas! FUCK! Song tries to pounce but can't get an opening as Danielsson collects himself just in time.
I smell a decision loss. This isn't good, getting rocked twice despite dominating the second round. Danielsson's first introduction to Preliator and high level competition wasn't the best of showings.
Dong Wan "Wag the Dong" Song wins by Unanimous Decision

Hard Times Gabe lost, Danielsson is broken right now from losing twice in a row and Kevin hasn't been improving as much as we'd like. There is Hansen but he's mostly a brute with little to no brains. Charlie Vinter has to defend his belt again, and we have a difficult decision to make here. Bradley Hampton, who lost 3 fights in a row within the ABC organization to drop back down, or 1-0 MMA fighter Ben Price. We went with price since there were no real stand outs in the division just yet, and it wouldn't be fair to let someone who dropped down to get a title shot right away.
Carl Wang also finally gets a title shot, after ABC and Shin No's camp selects Carl for the upcoming defense.JSCRAP - FW - Charlie VINTER (C) vs. Ben PRICECharlie might not have the greatest record, and he may get finished a lot but since becoming Champ? Charlie fucking Vinter has looked much more comfortable--The Sambo style just didn't suit him. Wrestling wasn't working, but this new striking karate style has has learned naturally as a young kid is a fine base. Don't know about Price too much, other than the fact he's a wrestler that is quite strong and looked good in his debut bout.
Price was surprisingly winning the stand up at the start, and then presses Charlie to the cage. Not good looks as he manages the takedown. That round wasn't too active but its' expected from a wrestler.
It went like that through most of the fight actually, Charlie could not establish his rhythm. Vinter did impress me with how he was tested through out this fight-- Specifically his chin and submission defense. This Price guy wanted this fight badly and continued to bring Charlie to the mat where his striking would be neutralized.
Charlie got outclassed. Plain and simple. His takedown defense proved to be worse than previous fights and he just didn't use any combinations properly. Disappointing, but I knew that he was aware of that as the final round comes up.
Vinter absolutely DOMINATES Ben Price in the 5th and final round, dropping him to the ground twice with his striking. Taking him to the ground and unleashing strikes, while also unleashing blows in the clinch. Vinter also showed strength on the ground and nearly pulled through with some submissions but it was not to be-- He tried his hardest to put Price away in the final round but it was too late.Ben Price wins by Unanimous Decision
Price won rounds 1,2,3,4 but was mauled and destroyed in the final round. He toughed it out and is the NEW champion of the Jscrap FW division.

Carl was on a tea with a 7 fight win-streak and experienced veteran and wrestler Shin No is completely aware of that. Shin No was on a 7 fight win streak of his own so this would be the ultimate test-- But I wasn't too worried about Carl. Shin No has fought over 60 fights!--Which is insane by the way. Preliator was starting to take notice of him and it might be time for the veteran to move up but first he has to get through Carl and Shin No has -NEVER- finished anyone in his pro MMA career. ABC - HW - Shin NO (C) vs. Carl WANGRound 1Shin lands a double jab. Shin No hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. No fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with "Gentle Giant". "Gentle Giant" escapes the clinch and creates some distance. A couple of powerful body shots forces Shin back to the cage. "Gentle Giant" swims to double underhooks. Shin cannot stop "Gentle Giant" from stepping back and taking him to the floor. No attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Carl narrowly dodges a cross from No, but falls catching him in his guard. Wang powers out sweeping No with pure strength. Wang is now in side control. "Gentle Giant" lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Carl Wang attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from No for his troubles. Round 1 comes to a close.
"You won that round, Carl. You're too powerful and he can't defend against you. Beat his ass into submission." Round 2Carl takes No down to the mat with a good double leg takedown, leading to him standing over No. Wang drops a huge strike to Nos chin, landing into his guard. Shin No keeps his head down in the chest of Wang to avoid any submission attempts. Shin No leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. Carl drops a few strong punches, opening up Nos guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. No attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Shin gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Wang begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Shin rolls to being mounted instead. Shin bucks off Carl sweeping him to his back and slickly transitions to side control. Round 2 is finished.
"You're absolutely destroying him, up two rounds. I need you to bring him to the ground and actively look for the submission. Nice ground and pound." Well, the ground and pound is nice for points but WE all know Wang has very little power behind his fists. Round 3No circles Wang, landing jabs at will. A couple of powerful body shots forces No back to the cage. Carl Wang swims to double underhooks. No cannot stop Carl Wang from stepping back and taking him to the floor. No is pummeled by some well timed bombs from "Gentle Giant". Wang presses the action while in the guard, but No is able to switch him into mount. Wang pulls Shin close to avoid a flurry of strikes. Carl bucks off Shin No and sweeps him over taking side control. Round 3 is finished.
"Keep the pressure up, suffocate him. You're not letting him do anything. Win one more round and hang in there for the submission." Round 4Shin No loses his balance from a well timed strike, and is awkwardly taken down by "Gentle Giant" for the mistake. "Gentle Giant" has side control. Wang slides his knee across the body of Shin and takes full mount. Carl Wang secures his position. Shin No gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Shin carefully protects himself from "Gentle Giants" strikes. Shin tries to stand up but "Gentle Giant" plants him back down with several strikes. The bell signals the end of round 4.
The Champion seems gassed and is getting beat at his own game of decision winning. "You've won the fight, Carl. It's in the bag unless you get finished. Don't let it get there." I would normally ask him to go for the kill, but I don't want Carl to force a submission attempt and get something turned on him--Despite the Champion never finishing anyone before. Round 5Shin No catches a leg kick from Wang, and puts him on the mat. Carl Wang gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Shin is able to slip into mount from the half guard. No maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Carl Wang gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Shin peppers "Gentle Giant" with several shots to the face. Shin No lays into Wang with some strong shots forcing Wang to give up mount position. The bell signals the end of round 5.
Maybe I should have told Wang to be more activate because it seems like he took a backseat to a desperate Champion--Who doesn't pose much of a threat really. It was over. ResultYour winner by unanimous decision and ...
NEW ABC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Carl "Gentle Giant" Wang wins by Unanimous Decision
Carl nervously thanked his family, his co workers and friends, the gym and the fans for his victory. Carl celebrates with his family as expected--But can you believe that he was going go on a 7 win streak tear? Damn! I never expected Carl to be this dominant.

Busy TimesOur gym was pretty busy, training 6 fighters and have 4 of them fighting? Insane. Well for us ... Our gym is still pretty good, and we're getting some good equipment now that we make some good money. Danielsson, Vinter and Gabe look to rebound while Carl looks to defend his belt for the first time in the ABC. PREL - FLY - Sam DANIELSSON vs. Fred BARNETTFred is a very experienced martial artist with a background in Muay Thai---The Preliator Flyweight division is filled with killers but I believe Danielsson can rebound after his loss to Song. His, and our gym's, second fight in the 2nd best organization in the world of MMA. Round 1A left high kick from Barnett keeps Sam Danielsson at bay. Sam Danielsson connects with a hard punch making Fred bring him in to a tight clinch. Barnett receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Fred lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. While tied up, Fred is met with a hard uppercut. Danielsson attempts a striking combination, but Fred Barnett forces the clinch. Fred places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. A strong elbow forces Sam to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Fred kicks at the thighs of Sam Danielsson. Barnett lays into Danielssons thighs with some well timed kicks while Danielsson is grounded. The round comes to an end.
"Don't let Fred take the fight to the clinch, get underhooks and drags his ass to the ground. Fix for the submission, Sammy Boy."Look, Sam didn't do too bad in the clinch there but Fred has nearly 40 fights of experience and I don't want to fight his game. Round 2Sam Danielsson attempts a jab but is countered by a hard right leg kick to the knee. Sam Danielsson attempts a jab but is countered by a hard right leg kick to the knee and is instantly followed by an upward elbow strike that rocks him. Sam Danielsson connects with a jab cross combination. Barnett takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Sam to hit him harder. Fred connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Round 2 comes to a close.
"Going to be real, Sammy boy .. You're down in the scorecards. I don't want you striking against such a tough guy. Come on. Ground work will win this." Round 3Fred Barnett presses forward, grabbing the plum and lands a strong hook, buckling Danielsson to the mat. Fred Barnett stands back and waves Danielsson up. Fred grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow to the head of Sam Danielsson. Sam Danielsson is leading with his head during his combos and Fred makes him pay by landing a lead knee to the jaw. Sam Danielsson shakes it off as he steps back. Sams legs are wobbled by a strong hook to the temple then a shovel punch to the jaw. Danielsson attempts to clinch, but Fred Barnett connects with an uppercut to the jaw. Sam weaves through a jab-cross combo but is hit with a nasty hook. Round 3 is finished.
AWFUL! Danielsson got dominated but I started to get worried about this. More than usual. Sammy boy looked demotivated and hasn't been the same since his second loss to Song, he needs to re-ignite his flame because.. One more L and he is getting sent back to the ABC organization. Maybe I was too hasty getting him here. ResultFred Barnett wins by Unanimous Decision JSCRAP - FW - Ernest WATKINS vs. Charlie VINTERCharlie just lost his title and will be looking to get it back, but for now he'll need to prepare for the NEXT bout. A combat sambo fighter with great wrestling ability. Should be an easy fight though, and perhaps Vinter can crack him good. Charlie doesn't start the round off well at all, eating a fist and then getting taken down with a large thud. Vinter makes a few mistakes on the ground, but luckily enough Watkins can't get anything done so we're in the stand up once more. However, it doesn't last long as Ernest executes a trip and the fight goes down. Charlie gets peppered with some shots before trying to lock in an achilles lock--Vinter forces his way out. He needs to stand and bang with his striking, not a good look. Charlie tries to defend the strikes from Watkins but has a mental lapse-- Giving up his neck and being forced to tap with only a few seconds left on the clock. Ernest Watkins wins by Submission (Rear Naked Choke)
