JSCRAP - FW - Lima RUA vs. Charlie VINTER (C)

The opponents just get tougher and tougher for Charlie, and this is no different. Rua is great at bjj and has submission threat--Something Charlie has difficulty with. Danielsson is ACTUALLY training as hard as he can for his next bout, and he's only training because it might be against Song. Vengeance? We'll see.

Charlie starts things off with a hook to the body, but misses the straight. A wild hook from Vinter is easily dodged and countered by a cross-hook to the body. I find it quite interesting that Lima is willing to stand up with Charlie. Rua lands with several jabs, before taking a strong hook from Charlie that forms a welt under his eye. Rua connects with a sweet uppercut, followed by a hard hook. Charlie circles away from Rua but lands strong kicks to the Brazilian's lead leg.

"You need to be more active in the stand up, Charlie. Bring the fight to him and pressure the idiot."

Charlie does exactly what I told him to starting off, building momentum by landing a few jabs to the face of Lima, but Rua does a good job of keeping Charlie at bay. Rua is connecting quite a big with his leg kick combinations, followed through with a hook. Unfortunately, Charlie loses his momentum as he catches him with an eye poke. It takes some odd seconds before the two get ready to go. Rua eats a stiff leg to the face, before landing a beautiful overhand to set up a double ankle pick.

"Charlie, buddy that can easily be 2 rounds for him. Work hard and stay up, strike with your power and make sure you connect with your hands."

Vinter comes out swinging but misses the mark, strikes with a ball kick to open up for a push kick to the mid section. I like Charlie's energy here so far. Rua parries a jab, but gets hit with a powerful kick to the ribs. Charlie connects with a kick, and hook. Nice going. They exchange outside leg kicks before the round ends.

"That's EXACTLY what I want to see, alright? You're starting to land and it's about time he goes down. Keep the pressure going.

Vinter evades a jab, landing a kick to Rua's ribs again--He's hurt! I can tell from his facial expression that Charlie's strikes were landing well. Rua spends too much time winding up a straight and is met with a hard knee to the body. Vinter starts connecting with his lead uppercut that is followed by a hard hook. Charlie easily shucks Rua's kick and crashes an overhand into the Brazilian's face. The two start trading, but the round ends.

"This final round decides it all, Charlie. You're the Champ and he wants to take it away from you. Vinter, you want to fight the best of the best well here you go. Keep that belt. Win. You have the momentum so keep that striking going."

They start off by circling, but Charlie takes a punch before going to the mat. Fuck! Charlie gets absolutely dominated on the ground, as we had pretty much expected. Vicious knees start raining in to the body. They start rolling, but Rua keeps busy with peppering strikes. I don't like this as the round winds down.

Not sure if Charlie wins, i'm a bit split.
