It's going to be a pretty insane time for us at Gustafsson Wrestling, since we DO have a great line up of fights. Charlie still looks to defend his belt yet again, finally getting his name out there to the point where I think even ABC is taking note.

JSCRAP - BW - Title Vacancy - Gabe ANDERSSON vs. Nathan BECKER

We have to train Gabe to deal with a really talented Canadian wrestler, but that's been the main problem. Gabe still doesn't want to train-- At this rate he might never leave JSCRAP. Sam himself is training HARD for his upcoming rematch against Song in his first Preliator belt but it hasn't rubbed off onto Gabe.

This Nathan guy knows what he's doing, immediately shoots in for the takedown and slams Gabe to the ground! Insane strength. It was rough to watch, as Gabe did struggle, but couldn't get back up onto his feet due to the ground strikes Nathan was laying into him. Luckily, he survives the round. Phew.

"Gabe what the hell was that? You didn't do a single thing that round. Stop being so lazy and take the fight to him. Control the ground game."

Jab, jab and hook from Gabe as he manages a good combination. Becker responds with his own storm of punches, sending Gabe to the mat but luckily our Vegan surfer recovers just in time. Gabe keeps the fight standing with a nice hook, but misses with the power straight. They seem to be trading but no opening for either guy.

"Gabe, you did some things right but got knocked down to your ass. It's 2-0 for him, you should amp things up. Sink in a choke."

Andersson connects with a combination and moves away from any counter. Becker pushes Gabe to the fence after grabbing a single leg, the two struggling for positional control. Gabe does a great job keeping his place, but ends up taking several unanswered knees to the mid section. Nathan seems to be taking the round over with precise strikes in the clinch, but Gabe tries to answer with a standing Kimura--Doesn't pan out, Nathan shoots for a takedown but it just ends up in an awkward scramble. Becker connects with a sharp punch, prompting Gabe to enter a clinch.

"Listen, Gabe. You need to look for an opening and get a submission. We can't let this go to the judges now. Come on."

Gabe does good landing with a jab as Nathan was winding a hook, only to cave in Andersson's nose with a powerful overhand. Gabe got lazy, it seems like he's gassed as his shot goes entirely wide and now his back is taken. Gabe does a good job disrupting the submission attempts, wiggling out of back control. The Canadian lets him escape and they end up on their feet. Becker doubles up on the jab, only to be tripped down by Gabe! Round over.

"You got ONE round to do this. If you really want to be a Champion and surf the biggest of waves, finis the job. You're the best submission artist in the gym--Prove it here."

Andersson starts off by getting the better of the stand up game, and then goes in for a take down! Good try by Gabe, but Nathan stuffs it and answers with an outside body kick. This Nathan guy is really having trouble standing with Gabe, but Andersson has very little knock out threat-- Or at least nothing I am aware of. I'm thoroughly impressed by the Canadian guy, as he has Gabe pressed against the cage but isn't content with that. Andersson is quite strong and Becker can't out muscle him, but uses a valley drop that FLOORS Gabe! Becker stands over him and lands some good punches standing, but Gabe grabs an arm and pulls him into guard. Fight over!

I'm thoroughly disappointed. Gabe started trying when the fight was already over. He's great at submissions, but seems to falter at every Championship bout. Maybe he doesn't want to be a MMA fighter for real.
