The burden of proof is on the claimant. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Claims indicating things like the entire science of virology is wrong and vaccines did not cure polio are reality shattering extraordinary and highly dangerious if incorrect, and therefore would require some incredibly sound evidence to believe in reasonable practice.

I haven't seen any evidence presented for any claims made other than Hustlers posting about some influenza studies on masks, which were refuted on newer studies I posted related to covid.

Point is, anyone can make claims about anything on the internet. Without evidence, you should not believe them. Bring the evidence to be taken seriously.

Covid is far more contagious than the flu. We also have a flu vaccine.

In the last 10 years, according to the CDC, the most effective flu vaccine was at a 60% efficacy rate. That was during the 2010-2011 flu season. So, with that being said.....a more contagious style coronavirus vaccine with only 10 months of development now has a 95% efficacy rate? So knowing what we know about virology and the flu virus in particular, we have had a vaccine for 70 years mind you, that the best we can do for it is a 60% efficiency rate? You are being lied to about the covid vaccine. I dont know why. The research timeline and efficacy data of prior known vaccines does support its claimed effectiveness. The most succesful human developed vaccine to date is the MMR vaccine and it only has a 98% efficiancy rate. These are real numbers. Please fact check them if youd like.

There are more strains of the flu than covid. However, if the vaccine and mask deniers continue on their way this could change and a variant of covid could come out which gets around the existing vaccines. The science is still ongoing, there is some speculation that variants are the reason J & J only tested at 65% efficiency, but at least it was still successful in preventing serious illnes.

This is not speculation or some scare tactic, it's basic biology. This is how viruses work, they mutate with community transmission.

There was also a LOT more money thrown at a covid vaccine than was ever spent on the flu. Multiple labs working in multiple countries and coordinating to rush out a vaccine. Benefits for other vaccines are likely to come out of the research done for covid, potentially including a better flu vaccine, but will take time.

With all that being said.....flu is mostly airborne....COVID is mostly aiborne. Fomite transmission has shown to be minimal. If masks and social distancing worked for flu then why didnt it work for COVID? Virus micron size not withstanding here, most "face coverings" are woefully inadequate. This was compliance. Viruses have existed long before us and will thrive long after us. A diabetic geriatric dying WITH covid isnt the same thing as dying BECAUSE of covid.

Because Covid is more contagious than the flu by far. It also has a much longer asymptomatic period and more asymptomatic carriers. Some evidence suggests Covid lingers in the air longer than the flu as well, studies ongoing.
