Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the highly anticipated update for the MMarmy Career Challenge! Some fighters have left due to injury and some have left to due to unfortunate chocolate cake addictions. Let's break it down!Breakdown based off Bas's last rankings (thank you!)01583 -LHW - 9-0 - Buzz Griffin.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299660**Buzz continues his strong start! A perfect record through nine and a supposedly easier division could give this ground and pound dozer an excellent shot at the title. Having advanced quickly to the Pancrash organization, we're wondering when the competition is going to stiffen enough to stop this machine.
01664 - WW - 9-1 - Robbie howard.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299880**I guess when Goku's out to lunch, Robbie 'Super Saiyan' does an excellent job filling in. Using some excellent JJ skills, Robbie has quickly proven his mettle to the field. We just wonder how long before one of the lurking GnP machines truly tests his skills.
01887 - HW - 7-2 - Pat Jenkins.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=300420**Runway models everywhere are cheering on this anorexic fighter. Using some lethal JJ skills and excellent fight management seems to have given Pat some momentum. Considering his coach has publicly threatened to kill him on several occasions, Jenkins still stands proudly in the octagon.
01986 - LW - 4-0 - Yurik Belkin.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299144**Belkin seems to just now be getting into the swing of things. A slow start at 4-0 could be a decisive tactic, but rumors of weight problems still persist.
02077 - MW - 7-2 - Damian Carter.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297262**Damian's PL skills are coming into their own and his secondary skills are progressing nicely. His 207 frame cutting to MW will definitly help this young man go far.
02218 - MW - 8-3 - Brett Jenkins.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296875**After tearing though the WCA organization, Brett has hit some small roadblocks in LOGO. At a respectable 4-3 in his last 7 fights, Brett seems ready to slow down a little to allow his skills to match the competition.
02334 - LW - 9-3 - Bert Long.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296281**Bert is a strong fighter, with all three of his losses coming off decisions. Strong starting stats give Bert lots of options when considering styles. His light weight is still a problem, but good training and fight management should pull him through.
02354 - LW - 9-3 - Nelson Boucher.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299766**Nelson seems to have some bad luck. Even with style advantages, Boucher has dropped some important fights, namely two title fights. We hope he doesn't suffer the same problem in the EFC.
02789 - LHW - 4-0 - Lucho Vega.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297081**Fighting in the LHW division at 204 will definitely hamper this fighter, but a slow and steady approach will help his advancement. We're pretty sure Lucho will be looking for more 8pt victims.
02824 - MW - 6-1 - Makoto Nakasato.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=298103**With his only loss coming on a questionable SD, Makoto really is destroying everything in his path. This PL specialist may even be able to get a job as an Elvis impersonator when he retires.
02839 - WW - 6-2 - Tom Jones.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296772**There's nothing unusual about this fighter except his name. Sticking to the popular FS / PL switch, Tom is still a strong fighter despite his two losses.
02975 - WW - 8-2 Manuel Pereira.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299235**Manuel's FF style is off the hook! Included in his 8 wins is several wins against bad style match ups. With a solid weight cut and an apparent good hidden stats, Manuel should be able to make a good run in the competition as long as he makes intelligent fight decisions.
03104 - HW - 7-2 - Gabriel Barnes.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296913**Gabriel is another strong contender in the HW division. Showing good size, the only question is his heart. His only two losses are via submission, one by strikes and another by armbar. Gabriel should be able to pick on some of the smaller HW's until he reaches the higher organizations.
03321 - LW - 5-2 - Vernon Morris.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297387**Showing signs of intermittent weight issues, Vernon suffered his first stoppage loss. Still a strong fighter due to his weight, we'll have to watch to see if his chin issues continue.
03856 - LW - 4-2 - Chase Jackson.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=298804**Finally cutting to LW, Chase has lost two close decisions in which he had the style advantage. If he continues to cut, he should be able to compete with the best strikers out there.
03883 - LW - 7-6 - Darren Ross.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=298974**Shockingly,
666HBK666 umm.. MMA's fighter is barely over .500. This goes to show, it doesn't matter who you are, sometimes we all get fighters with chins of mush.
03917 - WW - 7-3 - Branden Long.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296880**The Great White Hype has a long way to go to live up to his hype apparently. Suffering two defeats via KO, Branden might have issues dealing with stronger strikers. Even still, Long has a nice combination of weight, GnP and 8pts to give style switchers something to thing about.
04016 - LW - 7-3 - Ian Twitty.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299178**Ian is progressing nicely as a striker, but is 0-1 against JJ opponents. Unless Twitty can come up with an effective counter to the submission fighters, he will have problems.
04464 - LW - 7-3 - Chad White.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299282**Chad has some good GnP skills and has progressed to the LoTC organization. White has managed to overcome style disadvantages in several of his fights, a good sign for future fights.
05095 - MW - 5-2 - Ole Stevens.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=298979**This 8pts beast is strong. Despite weight disadvantages, Ole has won most of his fights and lost two by close SD. If this guy could cut and stay at WW, I might be calling him one of the favorites. As it stands, I'm not sure how far his heart will take him against fighters with 15 plus pounds on him.
05193 - LW - 4-1 - Koichi Miwa.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296328**Undefeated at LW, this 185lb beast couldn't get his body to continually cut that much weight. Moving up to 170, Koichi suffered his first defeat. Miwa still has good size for WW, but now he'll have to rely much more on his skill and stats for wins.
05888 - MW - 8-3 - Bull Ward.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297960**Coming out of a Legend's camp, Bull has a lot of pressure on him. Bull got off to a rough start at 1-2, but has gone 7-1 in his last 8, including five straight. Using an interesting blend of GnP, SnB, SiO and CS, Ward should be difficult once his stats are fleshed out.
06114 - LW - 8-4 - AJ Bryant.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297642**AJ is hitting his stride in the LOGO organization. Having gotten off to a rough 5-4 start, Bryant has battled his way to a competitive 8-4 using some good style match ups.
06955 - WW - 3-3 - Norm Russell.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299685**After starting 3-1, Norm has dropped two straight. With some excellent starting stats, Norm should have a better record than .500. His hidden stats may be a problem and slow him down in the future.
08543 - MW - Kalib Adams.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297389**Kalib has good size for the competition, but a suspect chin may be hampering his efforts. Showing good JJ, Adams will have to be careful with his style match ups to improve his record.
09553 - LW - 3-3 - Gary Stewart.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=299683 **Woo Woo! The Pain Train is coming! Gary seems to have gotten off to a slow start, but has lost some difficult style match ups. His 3 KO losses have to be a concern to Team Shakes.
13217 - LW - 5-6 - Frye Watson.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296416**Is this fighter's tattoos worth more than he is? As one of the few fighters with losing records, we have to wonder how long Crippler is going to stand for it. Some poor style match ups and questionable submission defense have led to six losses. Perhaps its the experimental herpes medication he's rumored to be taking?
13599 -LHW - 4-3 - Curt Jodoin.
http://mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296548**Another fighter who will be giving up weight on a regular basis, Curt must use his multiple styles to match up well with his opponents. Of his three losses, Jodoin was only stopped once. Hopefully, his heart can make up for a few pounds.
13600 - WW - 3-4 - Dennis Evans.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=297110**Having some of the most balanced stats of the fighters in the challenge and a good ability to cut weight, we have to wonder what the problem is with Dennis. Questionable sub defense and a so so chin offset the fact that he's submitted all three of his opponents in his wins.
13996 - HW - 2-3 - Masaru Mimasuya.
http://www.mmarmy.com/fighter_display.php?id=296183**A 252lb HW is going to struggle in the upper organizations, but until then Masaru should be competitive. Losing three straight SD out of the gate would have frustrated anyone. However, winning the last two via submission is a definite turn in the right direction.
*ADDITION**
I noticed when doing this update that several fighters were repeated. I would imagine that some fighters have been left off the list due to this error. As of now the only one who's pointed out the error is crimage. I've included his fighter in the rankings, but if you do not see your fighter listed, please bring it to our attention. Thank you!!
