Round 1 Hamilton is staggered by a jab to the chin. Hamilton unleashes several furious punches at Makoni. Otto Hamilton feints and follows up with a hard crossto the head of Makoni. Otto throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Mashinda Makoni is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Mashinda Makoni throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Otto Hamilton puts Mashinda Makoni on the mat giving his back up. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Otto narrowly dodges a cross from Makoni, but falls catching him in his guard. Makoni drops a few strong punches, opening up Ottos guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Otto gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Otto starts to wiggle out of back control, Mashinda Makoni lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Mashinda sends Hamilton to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Mashinda Makoni distracts Otto Hamilton with peppering shots. Mashinda Makoni then isolates a leg and sinks a achilles lock. Otto Hamilton is able to force his way out but gives up mount in the ensuing scramble. Otto Hamilton gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Otto carefully protects himself from Mashinda Makonis strikes. Giving up his back, Otto Hamilton panics and gives up mount instead. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Otto Hamilton feints and follows up with a hard cross. Mashinda Makoni stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. Mashinda Makoni hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Hamilton. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Mashinda recieves a strong elbow opening up the clinch. Otto connects with a right that puts Makoni off balance tumbling to the mat, as Otto towers over him. Otto Hamilton hovers over Mashinda Makoni pushing his legs to the side and throwing punches down at his body and head. Mashinda Makoni sends a hard up kick that rocks Otto Hamilton. Mashinda Makoni stands back up. The round comes to an end.
Round 4 Makoni connects with a hard punch making Hamilton bring him in to a tight clinch. Mashinda receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Makoni dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Otto Hamilton standing over him. Otto Hamilton attempts to drop a fist on Makoni, but misses and lands in his guard. Mashinda connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Otto tries to pass guard but Mashinda Makoni stops him with a well timed punch. While caught in the guard, Hamilton opens up a cut on Makoni with a devestating elbow. Otto eats a stiff punch to the face, and is then switched, giving Mashinda Makoni full mount.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Both fighters begin to exchange Otto catches Makoni with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Makoni gather himself. Makoni says he is ok and the fight continues. Otto throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Mashinda is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Hamilton unleashes a flurry of punches on Mashinda Makoni. Otto Hamilton stalks Makoni looking to unload with power shots. Mashinda weaves through a jab-cross combo but is hit with a nasty hook. Mashinda hits an uppercut to the head of Otto followed by a hard hook. The bell signals the end of round 5.
