Round 1 Sanchez tries to stop a shot with a punch but Gregory Rhodes plows through Emanuels attempt and ends up in guard. Gregory tries to move to half guard but Emanuel Sanchez uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. An attempt to pull a switch is blocked by Gregory but both fighters end up on their side. Both fighters scramble to a stand up. Gregory Rhodes reaches down and trips Sanchez with a beautiful ankle pick. Gregory Rhodes dives into back control. Sanchez tries to explode out the backdoor but Gregory Rhodes sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. Sanchez falls flat to protect himself. Gregory lands a series of heavy punches forcing Emanuel Sanchez to roll to his back, giving Gregory mount. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Emanuel Sanchez attempts a lazy shot, which Gregory sprawls, eventually taking Emanuel Sanchez back. Emanuel Sanchez tries to stand up but Gregory Rhodes plants him back down with several strikes. Emanuel starts to wiggle out of back control, Gregory Rhodes lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Rhodes reaches down and trips Emanuel Sanchez with a beautiful ankle pick. Rhodes dives into side control. Gregory slides his knee across the body of Emanuel and takes full mount. Gregory Rhodes secures his position. Emanuel Sanchez is hit with multiple punches, and taps out.
