Round 1 Barnett connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Ross. Tim Barnett ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Shuard and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. Both fighters begin to exchange Tim Barnett catches Shuard Ross with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Shuard Ross gather himself. Shuard Ross says he is ok and the fight continues. An outside leg trip puts Barnett into side control. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 A wild hook from Tim is ducked by Shuard who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Shuard Ross narrowly dodges a cross from Barnett, but falls catching him in his guard. Shuard works for a triangle but Barnett throws Shuard Rosss straight leg over his head and makes it to half guard. Shuard Ross attempt to sit up and push into his opponent but Tim has a strong underhook and pushes back. Shuard Ross uses the momentum to sweep Tim into side control. Barnett is caught in side control. Shuard waits for the proper moment and locks an arm triangle. Barnett beings to struggle, but the hold is too tight and he taps.
