Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Lin works Alvarez into the cage from the clinch. Lin presses his head under Alvarezs chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Ning escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Ning circles Alvarez, landing jabs and crosses at will. Ning parries Alvarezs jab and connect with a cross. Ortega is staggered by a jab to the chin. Alvarez is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Lin prepares to pounce, but Alvarez gets his bearings just in time. Ning Lin kicks at the legs of Alvarez Ortega and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Alvarez Ortega to stand. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Lin parries Ortegas jab and lands a hook. Lin counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. Alvarez Ortega throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from Ning. Lin slips a cross from Alvarez and lands jab cross to the body. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 A welt begins to form under Alvarezs eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Ning Lin. "The Apostle" circles Ortega, keeping him at bay with quick strikes. Ning Lin throws a hard leg kick but is checked by Alvarez Ortega. Alvarez Ortega parries a jab but leaves himself open for a hard cross. "The Apostle" grabs for a clinch but Alvarez grazes him with an uppercut. "The Apostle" staggers back, then surprises Alvarez with a powerful superman punch. Lin clinches with Ortega and pulls guard but Ortega gets in his half guard on the way down. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
