Sam DanielssonThe first guy to walk into my gym! I don't know if he's going to be a winner or straight trash, but I promised myself i'd give him a fair shake. He's great in a lot of disciplines truthfully, but not wrestling--- Yet.
He had been learning Sambo most of his life, sprinkled in with some Judo and Greco Roman. He has a solid foundation in those while maintaining dexterous footwork and killer speed for take down attempts. He's been hitting all the marks but his biggest issue is that sometimes he would rather be chasing skirts than hitting pads.
I contacted UNO FC and landed the kid his first contract, but what style should he be using? Even i'm clueless!Gabe Andersson This man's a complete handful! He wants to become an MMA fighter but all he does is hit the beach and surf. He often sneaks off while I ain't looking, but it ain't hard to find the bastard. The beach. Always the beach.
Trying to show him the ropes in wrestling, but let me tell you ... His Judo is crazy good. His reflexes are cat-like and he has some good strength to his frame. His conditioning is god awful though-- If only he would stop frolicking on the beach!
Got him a 3 fight deal with Jungle Scrap-- Hope he fixes his attitude before someone kicks the shit out of him.Charlie VinterCharlie fucking Vinter. My childhood friend and the guy I often trained with during the summer while I was still in college. It's been a long ass time but he wants to try his hand at MMA. Tough as nails and his work ethic is something to be straight admired.
His wrestling isn't great, but he has a black belt in Karate and runs a local school for kids. Heart of gold but sometimes I get worried since i'm now his coach and trainer. What if he gets hurt?
Finally managed to get a deal with LFC, though it took some bargaining. Fucking promoters. Kevin LjungKid will be special, book it! 'Least I do. Dude's shredded and takes good care of himself. Truly a student of the game and is willing to learn so i've been giving him some pointers. He has a Sambo background just like Sam, but i'm convinced he can become a solid wrestler. He's real shifty so it may be in his best interest to pursue something else.
Haven't gotten him signed since I feel he needs some more training. Carl Wang A fucking giant. Over 270 pounds and this guy is bigger than even me! His wrestling has come along great, but the man's a bit timid and awkward. Freakish conditioning and he's got great brains and deceptive reflexes. Heck he's quicker than everyone else while being twice their size.
Signed him to UNO FC,think it will be a great place for him to start off. He has some issues mentally but if he can overcome those? Watch out.

Disappointment
We had a great fight for Sam Danielsson lined up at FLYWEIGHT, kid worked like a madman trying to get down to the suitable weight. He doesn't have a lot of muscle mass but he has some grit when he can put his mind to it. Joe Airipe was supposed to be our first notch, but .. That dumbass couldn't make weight so were without a fight.
Jo Araripe was unable to make 125 for his fight against Sam Danielsson.
UNO FC - Bear Foster vs. Carl Wang
Our big friendly giant got his first crack at MMA, with me and Charlie being the corners for this fight. A decent crowd as there were still a lot of fans of the UNO FC brand but we were focused on winning. Carl? He was a nervous wreck before the fight and had the jitters.
Carl started off great! Got some good strikes in and defended the clinch well, until .. Well Bear kind of started to crack the big ol' man. The Gentle Giant got dropped to the ground in round one, but luckily he was still able to defend the attacks of Foster.
Round two was a little better, but not quite great. He got BOPPED instantly and Foster followed through to the ground and that's where it stayed throughout the round. Hate to say it but Carl didn't do all too well so Charlie started yelling at him after round two-- Wang looked like he was about to cry! He needs to finish Bear right now!
Double leg takedown right off the bat by our boy Wang. It was absolutely beautiful, just the stuff we were teaching here at Gustaffson Wrestling. He had complete control! Carl Wang is massive. Like he's not shredded but he weighs a tonne. Foster was actually struggling to get out and kept eating strikes from the outside. Carl let him up for some reason though, he seemed shaken by something and the bell rang!
Can't say I didn't expect a split decision victory for him after the knockdowns he got on Carl, but I think this is great progress even though we took our first loss. Carl showed some good flashes in that third round that we can build upon.
Bear Foster wins by Split Decision
We got a few fight offers for Danielsson but I turned them down since I knew he was still somewhat fresh so I wanted to find a fair opponent. I think he has potential,if only he would stop sleeping around so much and focus on his damned wrestling.
