LFC - FW - Izanagi TAYAMA vs. Charlie VINTER

Charlie's a true fighter to the core, and despite his loss in the title fight? He still got up in the morning to help out at the gym. Dedication goes a long way and I hope sometime I can offer my childhood friend a real shot at MMA glory through my camp.

His next fight was against some Japanese judo practitioner but we thought it would be easy since the man was only 2-4. Boyyyyy.

They ended up in a clinch, but I felt Charlie was getting the better of him-- Until the Jap dropped him to the ground with a well timed throw. Round two was pretty brutal as Charlie could never get his footing in this bout and clearly couldn't handle the judo throws. This has happened before, Charlie giving up his back trying to get some distance but it's futile at this point.

Submission set. Sinks. He taps.

It hurts me seeing Charlie get done in like that but I marched into the cage and made a vow. "We're going back to the basics, Charlie. My way." Charlie would be the first to test out the type of fighting I meant.

ABC - FLY - Narisa INTHON vs. Sam DANIELSSON

I didn't get to make this fight in all truth since I was Charlie's corner, but Kevin was there for Sammy boy and I heard it was all good. Looking at the tape and I was -NOT- impressed. What the fuck, how did Sam eve win? I clearly need to show more support for my fighters but what can I do? He's in a tough organization so we need to work on training with Danielsson a lot more.

He's the one I built my brand around, and also the reason our gym have a sponsor. We can't afford to let him falter.

UNO FC - HW - Carl WANG vs. Earl MCDONALD

We finally got Carl suited up in some SVERIGE! gear, but this will be a mental challenge for the heavyweight given that his wife and two children are in the crowd. McDonald, from all accounts, is a swift moving fighter that isn't afraid to use his striking to their advantage. Carl hasn't been cracked at this point so I have hope that he can bring this fight to the ground.

"Carl, man. Put on a good performance with your family in the crowd." The last thing i'd want is for Carl to get his head kicked off with Mrs. Wang at the sidelines.

It was brutal.

Carl drops Earl to the ground EARLY. What in the fuck, Carl taking the INITIATIVE? He most definitely pushed the pace this bout and put Earl in a lot of compromising positions before the two ended up back on their feet. What happened? Our Gentle Giant rushes in and slams McDonald to the floor before getting into mount, peppering Earl with strikes to keep him occupied before ... Wrapping those massive arms around Earl and choking him the fuck out!

"Great work Carl!" Maybe we should have his family watching more often, holy fuck he looked dominant.

It's funny, Inthon is to that camp as Danielsson is to yours. He's kind of stuck where he is right now, but if I get some sparring partners to improve his speed, footwork, and reflexes, I think he'll have a lot of success. Also, ABC judges don't seem to like him.

Danielsson has stopped everyone so far, and I honestly think Inthon should have won this fight but bad luck with the refs happen and can be frustrating. Good luck with him, and maybe well have a rematch in the near future!

JSCRAP - BW - Gabe ANDERSSON vs. Noppadon SRIBOONRUEANG

Despite Gave losing the last title fight, I was pretty confident going into his fight. Jungle Scrap had treated us well thus far and I am pleased with how Andersson is coming along--- Kind of. He can definitely work the ground the best out of anyone in our camp but his lack of enthusiasm when it comes to training has always bothered me.

This fight was ENTIRELY on the ground, seriously. Gabe willed this Thai kid to the ground at will with his impressive arsenal of take downs shown to him by yours truly! I really liked the way he moved and transitioned on the ground, so I didn't say much after the first round ended. Especially since he almost got the Thai fighter to tap--I can't pronounce his name all too well so i'll leave it at that.

Gave got him to the ground with ease but ... In a compromising position. Fended off the first submission attempt by slipping a hand through and and disrupting it. Only fo a few seconds to pass and Gabe just tapping from a Teepee executed masterfully by Nopp--Whatever his name is!

Disappointment. The Vegan lost two fights in a row .. And still doesn't show up at the gym on time! Charlie did pull me over since I got a call from ABC and it was something JUICY!

40 fight English veteran Sid Taylor will go up against Sam Danielsson to defend his belt. Will the undefeated Danielsson tear through him or be put down by Taylor's vicious ground and pound that has claimed many victims?!

ABC - FLY - Sam DANIELSSON vs. Sid TAYLOR (C)

This one was taking place all the way in the States, haven't been there since I returned to start up this gym. Seattle is where the fight would be taking place, and Sammy boy was only enthusiastic because of the gorgeous American ladies he might bag. ABC isn't that high profile, but some people were starting to recognize Sam-- At least those that follow the fight scene. This fight was going to be our first one televised, main event.

"The Challenger ... Representing Gustaffson Wrestling ... OUT OF SWEDEN! SAM ... DANIELSSON! On the other side in black and purple trunks ... YOUR REIGNING ABC FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION ... ENGLAND'S VERY OWN ... SID TAYLORRRRRRRR!!!"

The crowd roars as the time winds down ... The referee explains all the rules and gives them the signal. It's time to fight!

'Sid Taylor fakes a takedown attempt and .... Clinches with Sam Danielsson! The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Sam quickly attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Sid Taylor pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters remaining on their feet! Great take down defense by the Champion!'

I was getting a bit worried here, knowing that this wouldn't be easy. Taylor has literally had 40 fights and has a lot of wins under his belt, whereas Danielsson is just a kid getting started on his MMA journey. His experienced showed.

'A shot is side stepped by Danielsson! ... but quick reflexes and footwork lead to a second attempt that takes down Danielsson. Great work by Sid there! Taylor settles into his guard safely ... Sam Danielsson is caught in a can opener! And is prompted to open his his guard. He lands two quick strikes but Taylor transitions to half guard! Sam tries to--- TAYLOR TAKES HIS BACK AND --- THE REF INTERVENES AS THE ROUND ENDS! I honestly believe that Sam was in trouble there, saved by the bell."

I'd have to say that Taylor won that round with his experience, but you know what? All of us are here rooting for Sam. Heck, even Gabe ditched surfing to watch Danielsson fight! He's our biggest star, but did I make a mistake accepting a fight against a 4 fight vet?

'Round two begins! They circle each other ... After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch! Danielsson works Sid into the cage from the clinch. Danielsson presses his head under Sids chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Great work from the challenger ... While tied up, Sid is met with a hard uppercut! Ohhh! Sid is met with a cross and a liver shot that staggers him! HE'S HURT! TAYLOR'S HURT! DANIELSSON EXPLODES WITH A FLURRY OF PUNCHES THAT DROPS SID! Danielsson drops a huge strike to Sid Taylors chin, landing into his guard! OH GOD! Danielsson takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Sid Taylor's guard ... Doesn't pay off! Both back to standing! What perseverance from the Champ! Beautiful ankle pick by Danielsson ..-- SID LOCKS IN THE KIMU--Defended! Taylor goes for the armbar and IS MET BY DANIELSSON'S OVERHAND PUNCH! And the round ends!"

Sam did great that round, and was truly finding his groove but i'm scared now. How did Taylor survive that? Most would be out at this point! We gave Sam some encouraging words and sent him back out there.

'Danielsson narrowly dodges a cross from Sid, but falls catching him in his guard ... A kimura attempt from the challenger is countered by a punch from Taylor, who then transitions to half guard! Sid hits Sam Danielsson with some punches to the side of the head! Sam needs to do something here! Danielsson hits an upward elbow on Taylor, and attempts to get to full guard ... But during the scramble Taylor takes side control! Taylor wraps the arm of Sam behind his back and traps it ... ! IS IT OVER??? DANIELSSON IS RESISTING ... THE CHAMPION POUNDS AWAY AT SAM'S FACE! HE'S ROCKED BY A STIFF ELBOW! TH-- ROUND OVER!'

Fuck. That was a total loss there, we're definitely behind on points now. Charlie treated the cut under Sam's eye and Ken dealt with the rest, I just looked Sam right in the eye and said only four words. "You got this. SVERIGE!'

'Welcome ABC fans, we're back and starting off rouuuund 4! The Champion connects with a series of punches, forcing Sam Danielsson into a clinch to avid the full brunt of it. Sam drops to a knee and attempts a take down from the clinch but ... Taylor sets a guillotine choke! Sam slips out at the last moment! The Challenger is either really good or insanely lucky! Sam is now caught in guard ... A right hand from Taylor in gua-- DANIELSSON EXPLODES! A POWERFUL RIGHT HAND FROM DANIELSSON AND--- Round is over! Did you see the look in that Swede's eye? He was about to kill Sid!'

Hmm. Not great, but I still put my faith in Sammy boy. Charlie's screaming but the message is pretty clear. Sam has to fight his hardest and use his anger to drop him in the final round. Sam's fights have never gone this far though, but i'm not worried about his gas tank given how much time he spends in bed with all those women. Imagine if Sam got the belt? He'd have a troupe of girls!

"Here we have the fifth and final round! It all boils down to this! Sam endures a punch, but still shoots in for a clean takedown! Danielsson forces the Champ's guard open to sneak in two swift strikes as he moves into a half guard ... No luck! Taylor defends the shots well by turning his head away. Sam works hard and tries to get a leg free ... Moves into dominant side control. THE CHAMP ALMOST SWITCHES SIDE CONTROL AROUND BUT FALLS SHORT! SO CLOSE! Sam slides a knee across the body of the Cha-- HE TAKES FULL MOUNT AND POSTURES UP! DAN-- THE BELL RINGS! The fight GOES THE DISTANCE! WHAT A GREAT PERFORMANCE BY THESE TWO!"

Ten more seconds. That's all it would have taken to finish off Taylor but it wasn't meant to be. It was now all in the judge's hands. He surround Sammy boy, giving feedback and how we thought it would go before sending him off to the referee. The ref holds onto both of the fighter's hands and awaits the decision.

"After 5 rounds, going to a decision ... Your winner by SPLIT DECISION and ...."

I couldn't believe my eyes as Sammy boy's hand was raised in triumph, and truthfully? My mind just froze. Everything came to a screeching halt. Danielsson brought our gym its' second belt. I close my eyes and just laugh, bringing Sam into a hug alongside all the other gym members that flew in with us. A special moment, but we still weren't done. Getting the title is only the first part, now we have to defend it. Well we do have this one other big problem. Dragging Sammy's ass back onto the plane because I doubt he'll want to leave all these hot chicks. It's always about women with Sam, he was actually taking down the number of some girl in the crowd--'Charlie get that clown back here!" But .. I've never been happier than now.

I don't think that writing out the commentator lines really adds anything to this. It was fine like it was before, imo.

JSCRAP - BW - Morgan HAYES vs. Gabe ANDERSSON

We got Gabe up against some English fighter who had been in MMA around the same amount of time as Gabe has--Except Gabe spends a considerable amount of time at the beach. Despite the two losses, I know Andersson still has some skill on the ground as he did pretty well in the last fight before getting submitted.

From what we figured out through tape, this was a Judo professional that has only won an UD AND has been finished twice--We have an opportunity here now to deal with this on the ground or at least I thought so!

This Morgan guy was pretty smart and immediately forced Gabe to clinch, and did a good job at keeping our vegan off balance. I say a lot of ill about Gabe, but he's definitely crafty with the way he fights. He even slipped a leg through into a defensive half guard. It was all going well until Hayes flipped Gabe onto the ground at the end of the round.

Round 2 was quite uneventful as they both launched strikes and stayed standing, despite me and Charlie telling Gab to go to the ground. Maybe he was afraid of being submitted again? They exchanged blows and ... No one really did major damage or anything.

In the 2rd round Gabe came out swinging and staggered Hayes HARD! He ends up pushing him down and willing his ground expertise on the Englishman before the bell sounds. Decision time and I was surprised again by the result.

How does he keep getting away with this BS?

LFC - FW - Charlie VINTER vs. Todd DAVIDSON

We -have- to change things up for my childhood buddy, I couldn't just let him get dominated like that so we went back to his bare basics! Charlie has a great background in karate, and even hosts classes for kids at his own gym. I decided right then and there that we should focus on him developing that style since it suits him so well. It's a big risk going this route, but if it pays off? It will set Charlie back on track.

This fight would still be a challenge, since I was aware that Davidson has a wrestling background but he had no prior MMA fights so this would be a relative unknown. I wanted a decent test, but also build Charlie's confidence back up so this was a logical move here. The only issue is that Todd might use his wrestling to neutralize Charlie's striking.

"I believe in you bud', go get 'em."

Round 1 started off with the two feeling each other out with a few blows before committing to a clinch. Vinter was forced away from it while eating a knee, and I was honestly starting to get worried. Did I make a mistake in advising him to change styles? The Canadian evaded Charlie's kick with relative ease and I looked over at Kevin wondering if this would be it? An audible slapping sound rang through the arena as Vinter blocks a HEAVY kick from Todd. Oh god, if that connected? He might have been out cold!

Still round 1 and .. Charlie connects with a cross! HE'S HURT! Me and Kevin were just screaming. "DON'T LET UP! FINISH! FINISH!'. A right puts Davidson to the ground! Charlie towers over him and finishes the job with a brutal knock out! Bouncing Todd's skull off the ground!

Charlie Vinter wins by KO (Punch)

This was just what Charlie needed to bring his confidence back up, going back to his roots in Karate worked out well for him. I honestly believe he can make waves now and actually prove his toughness.

Got a call from my friend at ABC, and I knew what it was about for the most part. Danielsson's first title defense as the ABC Flyweight Champion. Dong Wan Song just fought recently so he was out of the picture--And I was relieved. He's a monster that won 4 fights in a row at the ABC level, and is on a 6 fight win streak total thus far. His last three wins were all my knock out, and he broke some dude's fucking leg!

Rocky Arnold would be Danielsson's opponent and he was no slouch either, being one of the BEST prospects in MMA with his 12-3 record. A tremendous wrestler and one with knock out power. Five rounds with this guy? God damn the ABC is not letting Sammy boy rest easy!

Most interesting of all ... My friend notified me that if Sam -defends- the belt and does well in his fight? Preliator is willing to open the doors for Sam, my jaw almost dropped. The 2nd best fight organization in the world was willing to give Sam a chance?

I just pray he doesn't lose. I send Charlie off to drag Sam out of some hotel and get him training. The real test begins NOW!

Rocky Arnold is pretty good, I expect him to end up in the EFC eventually. He beat one of my guys, a current 15-3 PREL fighter, in his last fight.
