Round 1 Bert Douglas takes a punch while shooting but executes the takedown and ends up in Oscars guard. Bert Douglas attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Oscar slips out of it at the last moment. Bert sits up in Oscars open guard and spins to an leg lock. Oscar Mikkelsen is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Douglas circles Oscar Mikkelsen, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Oscar Mikkelsen parries Bert Douglass jab and connect with a cross. Both fighters move in to strike but miss their marks. As they jockey for position in the clinch Bert Douglas wins the momentum battle and falls into side control on top of Mikkelsen. Bert Douglas drops some hammer fists on Mikkelsen. A knee to belly allows Oscar to twist from his back, pulling Bert off balance. Oscar then switches him to guard and stands up. Oscar allows Bert to stand.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Oscar Mikkelsen lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Bert. Oscar Mikkelsen gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Oscar carefully protects himself from Berts strikes. Oscar starts to wiggle out of back control, Douglas lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Bert snaps back the head of Oscar with a stiff jab. Bert is struck by a ball kick from Oscar that causes him to stumble backwards. Bert Douglas connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Oscar lands a solid kick to the inside thigh of Douglas. Mikkelsen connects with a sweeping kick at the leg of Douglas. Bert is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Oscar prepares to pounce, but Bert gets his bearings just in time. Mikkelsen grabs a foot and kicks at Douglass thighs. He then backs off and Bert stands back up. Oscar connects with a right that puts Bert off balance tumbling to the mat, as Oscar towers over him. Oscar Mikkelsen lays into Berts thighs with some well timed kicks while Douglas is grounded. Oscar Mikkelsen grabs a foot and kicks at Berts thighs. He then backs off and Douglas stands back up. A wild hook from Douglas is ducked by Oscar Mikkelsen who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Douglas is cut open by a standing elbow strike. The ref stops the fight. The doctor take a look at the cut and determines Douglas can continue. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Oscar circles away from Douglas, landing strong kicks to the lead leg. Mikkelsen connects with a brutal kick to the liver of Bert Douglas who falls to the ground. Mikkelsen waves him back to his feet. Mikkelsen tries to hyperextend the knee of Bert with a kick to the kneecap. Bert hops back to avoid it. Bert attempts to press in on Mikkelsen but is met with powerful inside-leg kicks. Douglas weaves through a jab-cross combo but is met with a strong knee. Bert throws a kick to the midsection that is caught by Oscar. Oscar lands a sweeping leg kick that puts Bert on his back. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 A couple of powerful body shots forces Oscar Mikkelsen back to the cage. Bert swims to double underhooks. Oscar Mikkelsen cannot stop Bert from stepping back and taking him to the floor. Bert drops a few strong punches, opening up Oscar Mikkelsens guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Mikkelsen gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Mikkelsen starts to wiggle out of back control, Bert lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Douglas sends Mikkelsen to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Bert takes advantage of a mental laps from Mikkelsen and moves into full mount. Mikkelsen gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Bert peppers Oscar Mikkelsen with several shots to the face. Douglas tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. The bell signals the end of round 5.
