Round 1 Athanas winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. After dodging a jab, Gracie lands a kick to the ribs of Cosmas Athanas who winces in pain. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Alvaro Gracie grabs the plum and pulls Cosmass face towards a powerful knee which is blocked. Alvaro Gracie releases the hold and lands an uppercut. A running flurry from Cosmas is countered by a shovel punch to the jaw. Gracie then grabs the plum and throws Cosmas to the ground, immediately striking Athanass thighs. Gracie lays into Cosmass thighs with some well timed kicks while Cosmas is grounded. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Alvaro Gracie fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Cosmas Athanas. Alvaro lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Gracie takes the back of Cosmas Athanas who works for a kimura. Gracie pulls his arm out of the hold and push Cosmas Athanas away. Gracie hits an uppercut to the head of Cosmas Athanas followed by a hard hook. Alvaro Gracie throws a few jabs at Cosmas that miss the mark. Athanas connects with a hard jab as Gracie attempts a wide outside hook. Gracie and Cosmas begin to trade strikes. Cosmas lands a jab, cross. Gracie connects with a body shot followed by a hook. Gracie gains a muay-thai clinch and lands some hard hooks. He then pulls Athanass head to a strong knee strike, knocking him to the floor. A solid kick bruises the leg of Athanas. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Alvaro Gracie loses his balance from a well timed strike, and is awkwardly taken down by Cosmas Athanas for the mistake. Cosmas Athanas has side control. Cosmas Athanas slides his knee across the body of Alvaro and takes full mount. Cosmas Athanas secures his position. Alvaro gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Alvaro carefully protects himself from Cosmass strikes. Alvaro Gracie is able to make it back to the standing position. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Gracie hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Athanas narrowly dodges a cross from Gracie, but falls catching him in his guard. Athanas connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Gracie presses the action while in the guard, but Athanas is able to switch him into mount. Cosmas Athanas maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Cosmas Athanas executes a double hand slap to the ears of Alvaro Gracie. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 5 Athanas plows through Alvaro Gracie with a driving double leg takedown. A strong chopping strike hits Cosmas across the face. Cosmas lands a series of return strikes. Athanas takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Alvaro Gracies guard. It doesn't pay off as Alvaro Gracie makes his way to standing. Cosmas connects with jab cross combination. Alvaro throws a cross that easily dodged by Athanas. Cosmas Athanas locks around the waist of Alvaro Gracie. He sneaks his foot behind Alvaros and trips him to the floor, taking side control. Alvaro almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. A series of strong hammerfists forces Gracie to roll over, giving up his back. Round 5 is finished.
