Round 1 Procopio Gonzalez stuffs a shot from Reyes and lands several shots to his body. Reyes attempts to pull guard but Procopio Gonzalez makes it to side mount. Procopio Gonzalez slides his knee across the body of Reyes and takes full mount. Angelo shifts his head and hips to keep Procopio off balance and unable to land strikes. Angelo Reyes gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Procopio tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Angelo rolls through, putting Gonzalez into his guard.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Reyes works to Procopios back while standing. Reyes throws a couple of outside shots until Procopio is able to work his way back to the clinch. Procopio escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Procopio Gonzalez connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Angelo Reyes winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Angelo Reyes connects with a strong right hook. A shot attempt from Gonzalez is sidestepped by Angelo who counters with a hard spear of his own. Angelo throws an outside hook that lands flush allowing him to stand up to tower over Gonzalez. Angelo stands over Procopio Gonzalez, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Procopio Gonzalez is able to grab an arm and pull Angelo into his guard. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 A jab from Angelo is blocked and a cross is returned by Procopio. Angelo eats a strong cross as Procopio moves into the clinch. Procopio Gonzalez lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Gonzalez works Reyes into the cage from the clinch. Gonzalez presses his head under Angelos chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Procopio works Angelo Reyes into the cage from the clinch. Procopio presses his head under Reyess chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Procopio Gonzalez attempts a violent throw but Angelo Reyes holds back and quickly pounces on his back. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Angelo works Procopio Gonzalez into the cage from the clinch. Angelo presses his head under Procopios chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Procopio instantly spins and smashes Reyes with a brutal spinning elbow. The fighters clinch and begin to dirty box, landing uppercuts to the body and face. Procopio gets the better of the exchange, and Angelo circles away to avoid any more damage. Procopio Gonzalez pressures his opponent into clinching. Two short elbows from the clinch put Angelo off balance. Procopio holds him up, landing two more quick elbows. Procopio begins to thrust his shoulder in the face of Angelo. Procopio continues to maintain the clinch, creating space often for strong elbows. Round 4 is over.
Round 5 A welt begins to form under Reyess eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Procopio. Gonzalez throws a few strikes allowing him to clinch with his opponent. Procopio Gonzalez works Angelo into the cage from the clinch. Procopio Gonzalez presses his head under Angelo Reyess chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Gonzalez applies a standing armbar in the clinch to stop Reyes from performing and offense. Procopio Gonzalez utilizes his dirty boxing, landing short but powerful hooks to the ribs and uppercuts to the chin of Reyes. Angelo Reyes tries to break away from the clinch to no avail. Procopio has him on lockdown, peppering him with stiff shots. Round 5 is over.
