"Canadian Sedation" begins to posture on his side. Uesugi lands a couple of outside hooks and "Canadian Sedation" returns to the guard. Uesugi distracts "Canadian Sedation" with peppering shots. Uesugi then isolates a leg and sinks a achilles lock. "Canadian Sedation" is able to force his way out but gives up mount in the ensuing scramble. Uesugi maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Clive Martel gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Michio begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Martel rolls to being mounted instead. Uesugi isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Martel lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Uesugi to release. "Canadian Sedation" hits an uppercut to the head of Uesugi followed by a hard hook. Uesugi is staggered by a jab to the chin. Clive Martel throws a teep backing Uesugi off. Michio Uesugi attempts a takedown but slips, and "Canadian Sedation" backs away. "Canadian Sedation" is standing over Michio Uesugi. "Canadian Sedation" cannot find an opening to pounce. The ref brings Uesugi back to his feet. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Clive Martel is hit with a jab then a hook to the body and stumbles backward. Michio Uesugi tries to press the action but is met with a push kick from Clive Martel that puts him on the floor. "Canadian Sedation" connects with a right that puts Uesugi off balance tumbling to the mat, as "Canadian Sedation" towers over him. Michio thrusts his leg into Clives knee while grounded. Martel kicks at the legs of Michio and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Michio to stand. Michio Uesugi lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Clive Martel. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 "Canadian Sedation" is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Michio Uesugi prepares to pounce, but "Canadian Sedation" gets his bearings just in time. Michio drops a huge strike to Clive Martels chin, landing into his guard. Michio Uesugi is caught in a tight body triangle but lands some hard punches that force "Canadian Sedation" to loosen his guard and create distance. Uesugi takes advantage of a mental laps from Clive and moves into full mount. Clive lands a good elbow as Uesugi lowers his torso. Clive Martel gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Uesugi lands a series of heavy punches forcing Clive Martel to roll to his back, giving Uesugi mount. "Canadian Sedation" bucks off Michio Uesugi and both fighters get to their feet. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 Michio Uesugi connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Uesugi shoots for a single leg but Clive Martel is able to hop away, defending well. Uesugi takes the opportunity to execute a difficult double-ankle pick. Michio attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Clive slips out of it at the last moment. Uesugi frees a leg and moves into half guard. Uesugi tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Michio Uesugi wraps the arm of Clive behind his back and traps it. Michio Uesugi pounds away with shots to the face. Martel tries to scramble out of half guard, but Uesugi takes his back during it. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
