Round 1 Chico stuffs a shot from Procopio and hits him with an outside body shot. Procopio gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Procopio begins to posture on his side. Chico Ribeiro lands a couple of outside hooks and Procopio returns to the guard. Chico takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Gonzalezs guard. It doesn't pay off as Gonzalez makes his way to standing. Procopio Gonzalez is staggered by a jab to the chin. Chico Ribeiro hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Both fighters move in to strike but miss their marks. As they jockey for position in the clinch Ribeiro wins the momentum battle and falls into side control on top of Procopio Gonzalez. Gonzalez almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. A knee to belly allows Procopio to twist from his back, pulling Ribeiro off balance. Procopio then switches him to guard and stands up. Procopio allows Ribeiro to stand. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Chico Ribeiro hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Procopio Gonzalez gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. "Baby Back" tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Procopio Gonzalez starts to wiggle out of back control, "Baby Back" lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Procopio Gonzalez throws a hard jab but Chico Ribeiro throws a cross right over the top rocking Procopio Gonzalez. Procopio parries Ribeiros jab and connect with a cross that floors Chico. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Procopio feints and follows up with a hard cross. "Baby Back" stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. Chico Ribeiro dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Procopio Gonzalez throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Chico Ribeiro puts Procopio Gonzalez on the mat giving his back up. Procopio carefully protects himself from Ribeiros strikes. Procopio Gonzalez slips out the back leading to both fighters standing up. Ribeiro connects with numerous jabs to the face of Procopio. Chico Ribeiro takes a punch and goes to the mat, Gonzalez pounces into side control. Chico Ribeiro recovers quickly. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 Procopio Gonzalez connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Chico takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Procopio Gonzalez to hit him harder. "Baby Back" tries to hyperextend the knee of Gonzalez with a kick to the kneecap. Gonzalez hops back to avoid it. Chico Ribeiro hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Gonzalez. "Baby Back" connects with a hard right hand putting Gonzalez on the mat. "Baby Back" goes down with him into side control. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 Ribeiro shoots in and executes a textbook single leg takedown, giving him side control. Ribeiro slides his knee across the body of Procopio Gonzalez and takes full mount. Ribeiro secures his position. Procopio gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Procopio tries to stand up but Chico plants him back down with several strikes. Ribeiro lays into Procopio with some strong shots forcing Procopio to give up mount position. The bell signals the end of round 5.
