Round 1 Ray Rogers connects with a strong right hook. Ray connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Rogers executes a single leg giving him the back of Sotiropoulos. Ray Rogers tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Linos Sotiropoulos starts to wiggle out of back control, Ray Rogers lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Sotiropoulos throws a hard jab but Ray Rogers throws a cross right over the top rocking Sotiropoulos. Linos Sotiropoulos narrowly dodges a cross from Rogers, but falls catching him in his guard.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Ray fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Sotiropoulos to the cage. Sotiropoulos swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. While in his opponents guard Rogers powers himself and Sotiropoulos up in the air and slams him down to the canvas. Rogers takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Linos Sotiropouloss guard. It doesn't pay off as Sotiropoulos makes his way to standing. Ray lands a double jab. Rogers lands a double jab. Ray quickly ducks under a hard hook attempt and snatches a standing head and arm choke attempt. Sotiropoulos attempts to force his arm out but can not. Ray lifts Sotiropoulos up in the air and turns violently whipping Sotiropoulos and finally crashing to the mat on the back of his head and neck. Sotiropoulos shockingly is still in the fight. Ray lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Rogers delivers knees to the body and sharp forearms to the head forcing Linos to turn over. Rogers takes the back. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Sotiropoulos fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Ray Rogers. Rogers works to Sotiropouloss back while standing. Rogers throws a couple of outside shots until Sotiropoulos is able to work his way back to the clinch. A strong elbow forces Ray to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Sotiropoulos attempts to drop a fist on Ray Rogers, but misses and lands in his guard. Sotiropoulos tries to pass guard but Rogers stops him with a well timed punch. Ray fires elbows off his back to the top of the head of Sotiropoulos. Linos Sotiropoulos tries to pass guard but Rogers stops him with a well timed punch. Ray attempts a few a shots from the guard, but gets mounted for his troubles. Round 3 is over.
Round 4 Linos Sotiropoulos is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Rogers prepares to pounce, but Linos Sotiropoulos gets his bearings just in time. Ray Rogers drops a huge strike to Linos Sotiropouloss chin, landing into his guard. Rogers drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Ray drops a few strong punches, opening up Linos Sotiropouloss guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Sotiropoulos attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Linos gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Ray Rogers begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Sotiropoulos rolls to being mounted instead. Ray is pulled in tight, and then switched over on his back. Linos is now caught in Rogerss guard.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Rogers tries to hyperextend the knee of Sotiropoulos with a kick to the kneecap. Sotiropoulos hops back to avoid it. Linos Sotiropoulos is hit with a jab-cross and then brutally shoved to the ground. Ray falls into his guard, delivering a strong punch as he does so. Linos Sotiropoulos grabs the arm of Ray Rogers while in guard and holds tight eating shots to ribs. Linos sinks a kimura, but cannot finish. He settles for a switch into mount. Rogers pulls Linos close to avoid a flurry of strikes. Sotiropoulos jumps out of mount and back to dominant side control. Round 5 comes to a close.
