Round 1 Todd fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Kit. Todd Elliott takes Pelletiers back standing. Todd Elliott lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Kit Pelletier is able to work his way back around. Kit Pelletier drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. "The Natural " sets a guillotine choke but Kit Pelletier slips out at the last moment. Kit Pelletier is now caught in guard. Todd Elliott attempts a kimura from the bottom. Kit Pelletier blocks the attempt and smothers Todd Elliott who transitions to an armbar attempt. Kit Pelletier is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. Pelletier tries to move to half guard but Todd Elliott uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Kit is pulled close and is hit with a couple of strong heel strikes to the back. "The Natural " backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Elliott stuffs a shot from Kit and hits him with an outside body shot. Kit gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Elliott and he traps Pelletiers extended leg to move to half guard. Pelletier goes to Z guard and shoots his head under the arm of Todd and attacks the leg for a knee bar. Todd spins out of the hold letting both fighters get to their feet. Todd Elliott dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Elliott narrowly dodges a cross from Kit, but falls catching him in his guard. "The Natural " starts to lock a triangle. Kit Pelletier postures up and Kit Pelletier settles for a few stiff chops to Todds face. Pelletier pulls out of the guard of Elliott, stands up, feels it out, and drops a huge right hand to the jaw of Elliott. Todd Elliott dodges some ground strikes from Kit, and sends a few back of his own. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 "The Natural " connects with a hard punch making Pelletier bring him in to a tight clinch. Kit Pelletier works Todd into the cage from the clinch. Kit Pelletier presses his head under Elliotts chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Elliott takes the back of Pelletier who works for a kimura. Elliott pulls his arm out of the hold and push Pelletier away. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Both fighters begin to exchange Kit Pelletier catches "The Natural " with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets "The Natural " gather himself. "The Natural " says he is ok and the fight continues. Kit is hit with two hard punches to his face. Kit laughs off the punches. Kit Pelletier connects with a right that puts Elliott off balance tumbling to the mat, as Kit Pelletier towers over him. Kit Pelletier stands over Elliott, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Elliott attempts an armbar but Kit Pelletier chucks him to a side and lands in side control. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 Pelletier connects with a series of punches forcing Todd Elliott into a clinch. Kit Pelletier takes "The Natural s" back standing. Kit Pelletier lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Elliott is able to work his way back around. Pelletier takes Elliotts back standing. Elliott isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Pelletier lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Elliott to release. Todd Elliott throws a hard jab but Pelletier throws a cross right over the top that knocks Todd Elliott to the ground. Kit attempts to drop a fist on Todd Elliott, but misses and lands in his guard. Pelletier stands up with Elliott still holding guard. As Elliott releases his guard Pelletier spins to a kneebar but it is too shallow. Pelletier takes couple of shots to the head. The fighters scramble to standing position. A shot is side stepped by Todd Elliott but quick reflexes and footwork lead to a second attempt that takes down Todd Elliott. Pelletier settles into his guard. Todd locks a triangle but Kit Pelletier defends well. Todd decides to let go of the hold. Elliott connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Kit Pelletier lands a hook to the body. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Pelletier attempts to grab the plum but Todd Elliott takes the opportunity to attain double underhooks and take down Pelletier. An attempt to pull a switch is blocked by "The Natural " but both fighters end up on their side. Both fighters scramble to a stand up. Elliott narrowly dodges a cross from Kit, but falls catching him in his guard. "The Natural " pulls Kit Pelletier close and connects with a few heel strikes to the back. Todd begins to work the rubber guard. Kit Pelletier distracts Todd with peppering shots. Kit Pelletier then isolates a leg and sinks a achilles lock. Todd is able to force his way out but gives up mount in the ensuing scramble.Round 5 comes to a close.
