Round 1 The fighters circle each other. Kalil Herod lands a hook to the body. Herod connects with a series of punches forcing Ahamad Powell into a clinch. Kalil Herod takes Ahamads back standing. Powell isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Kalil Herod lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Powell to release. A shot is side stepped by Ahamad but quick reflexes and footwork lead to a second attempt that takes down Ahamad. Herod settles into his guard. Kalil Herod sits up in Powells open guard and spins to an leg lock. Ahamad is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. A trip to the ground allows Powell to move into the guard of Herod. Powell attempts to spin to a kneebar but Herod is ready for it. He twists out and scramble to side control. Kalil throws his knee into the ribs of Ahamad. Ahamad sweeps over Kalil and quickly obtains mount position. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Kalil Herod attempts a takedown, but Powell clumsily falls down without much provocation. Kalil attempts to drop a fist on Powell, but misses and lands in his guard. Herod takes advantage of a mental laps from Ahamad Powell and moves into full mount. Ahamad gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Ahamad Powell carefully protects himself from Herods strikes. Kalil Herod starts hammering away from dominant back control smashing the head of Ahamad Powell into unconsciousness.
