Round 1 Makoni connects with a hard punch making Garret bring him in to a tight clinch. An attempt at a clinch takedown from Hardy is defended well by Makoni. Hardy grabs an overhook, steps to the side to land two haymaker body shots, then an uppercut. Hardy returns to the clinch. Garret fakes a shot attempt from the clinch, opening Mashinda Makoni up for a flurry of hooks. Mashinda Makoni connects with numerous jabs to the face of Garret. Garret circles Makoni, landing jabs at will. Mashinda Makoni hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Garret and Makoni begin to trade strikes. Makoni lands a jab, cross. Garret connects with a body shot followed by a hook. Garret gains a muay-thai clinch and lands some hard hooks. He then pulls Mashindas head to a strong knee strike, knocking him to the floor. Garret lays into Makonis thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Mashinda does so. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 A trip to the ground allows Mashinda Makoni to move into the guard of Garret Hardy. Hardy gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Mashinda tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Garret Hardy defends short shots well by turning his head. Mashinda Makoni attempts to get a leg free and successfully moves into dominant side control. Mashinda Makoni throws his knee into the ribs of Garret. Garret Hardy taps out from a hammmerlock.
