Round 1 Lane connects with a strong body shot combo. Michel Lane lands a solid kick to the front leg of Damian. Damian Hubbard parries a jab but is hit with a powerful knee to the midsection. Damian connects with a series of punches forcing Lane into a clinch. Michel Lane is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Hubbard dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Michel standing over him. "The Gunslinger" chucks Damian Hubbards legs to a side to attempt a soccer kick but misses and he elects to sprawl into side control. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Damian Hubbard attempts a jab but is countered by a hard right leg kick to the knee and is instantly followed by an upward elbow strike that rocks him. "The Gunslinger" throws a cross that easily dodged by Damian. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Michel Lane grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow to the head of Damian. Michel lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Damian Hubbard. A double-leg shot is stuffed initially by Michel Lane but Damian is able to muscle through for a takedown, finishing in half guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Damian executes a single leg giving him the back of Michel. "The Gunslinger" tries to explode out the backdoor but Damian Hubbard sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. "The Gunslinger" falls flat to protect himself. Lane starts to wiggle out of back control, Damian lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Michel shoots but Damian Hubbard stuffs it, eventually working in a whizzer and landing some sharp knees that allows him to move to side mount. Damian slides his knee across the body of Michel and takes full mount. Damian maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Lane kicks off a leg and finds space off to the side and wraps around the body of Damian getting his back. Round 3 is over.
Round 4 Michel Lane tries to stop a shot with a punch but Damian Hubbard plows through Michel Lanes attempt and ends up in guard. "The Gunslinger" fires elbows off his back to the top of the head of Damian Hubbard. Damian forces Michels leg down, giving him the chance to pass into side control. Michel takes a few knees to the body while under Damians side control. Damian Hubbard slides his knee across the body of "The Gunslinger" and takes full mount. Hubbard maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Michel Lane pulls his leg out from under Damian and gets back to half guard. The bell signals the end of round 4.
Round 5 Hubbard reaches down and trips Lane with a beautiful ankle pick. Hubbard dives into back control. Hubbard tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Michel starts to wiggle out of back control, Damian lets him escape putting them both on their feet. "The Gunslinger" is caught with a double leg takedown, forcing him to give side control. Damian slides his knee across the body of Michel and takes full mount. Damian Hubbard maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Michel bucks off Damian and sweeps him over taking side control. The round comes to an end.
