Round 1 A welt begins to form under Edus eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Jay. Edu connects with a hard punch making Haynes bring him in to a tight clinch. Jay Haynes drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Edu sets a guillotine choke but Jay Haynes slips out at the last moment. Jay Haynes is now caught in guard. Silva backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Edu Silva hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Silva connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Jay hits an uppercut to the head of Edu followed by a hard hook. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Jay connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Edu. Haynes dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Edu Silva throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Jay Haynes puts Edu Silva on the mat giving his back up. Jay Haynes tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Silva starts to wiggle out of back control, Haynes lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Jay hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Jay connects with numerous jabs to the face of Edu Silva. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Haynes works Silva into the cage from the clinch. Haynes presses his head under Edu Silvas chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Jay Haynes decides to abandon the clinch by pulling guard and bringing Silva with him. Silva tries to pass guard but Jay stops him with a well timed punch. Jay Haynes is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Edu Silva drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. While in the guard, Edu drops a long punch. Jay Haynes throws the leg over and rolls it over into an armbar. Edu has no choice but to submit.
