Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Izan works to Lynchs back while standing. Izan throws a couple of outside shots until Lynch is able to work his way back to the clinch. Izan drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. Izan pushes down Lynchs leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Lynch defends short shots well by turning his head. Lopez attempts to get a leg free and successfully moves into dominant side control. Lopez slides his knee across the body of Lynch and takes full mount. Lynch gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Phil Lynch tripods up, causing Izan to fall forward. As Izan tries to scramble up Phil Lynch lands a lunging hook, putting Izan on the ground stunned. Phil Lynch takes Lopezs guard. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Phil Lynch grabs a single leg and pushes Lopez to the fence. Both fighters are jockeying for positional control. Phil Lynch switches to a double leg but Lopez does a good job of keeping his base. Phil Lynch receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Izan. Phil Lynch dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Izan standing over him. Izan Lopez attempts to drop a fist on Phil, but misses and lands in his guard. Lynch fires elbows off his back to the top of the head of Izan Lopez. Phil Lynch shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Izan tries to pass guard but Phil Lynch stops him with a well timed punch. Lopez presses the action while in the guard, but Lynch is able to switch him into mount. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Izan Lopez works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Phil Lynch works Lopez into the cage from the clinch. Phil Lynch presses his head under Izan Lopezs chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Izan Lopez drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Lynch sets a guillotine choke but Izan Lopez slips out at the last moment. Izan Lopez is now caught in guard. Phil gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Lynch lands some stiff elbows from the ground, but Lopez is able to take full mount. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 Phil Lynch connects with a hard jab as Izan attempts a wide outside hook. Phil Lynch connects with numerous jabs to the face of Lopez. Izan takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. A wild hook from Izan Lopez is ducked by Lynch who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Lopez parries Lynchs jab and connect with a cross. The fighters circle each other.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Phil Lynch sends Lopez to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Phil drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Phil Lynch takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Izans guard. It doesn't pay off as Izan makes his way to standing. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Lopez throws a hard jab but Lynch throws a cross right over the top rocking Lopez. Izan is caught with a double leg takedown, forcing him to give side control. Lynch drops some hammer fists on Izan Lopez. Izan sneaks a leg back under the body of Phil Lynch to achieve a defensive half guard. The round comes to an end.
