Round 1 Ihara parries a jab but leaves himself open for an uppercut. Cody Frye connects with a hard punch making Ihara bring him in to a tight clinch. Ihara drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Frye sets a guillotine choke but Ihara slips out at the last moment. Ihara is now caught in guard. Cody backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. A cross from "Cro Magnon" is parried followed by an uppercut from Frye. After dodging a jab, Cody lands a kick to the ribs of Akira Ihara who winces in pain. Cody parries Iharas jab and lands a hook. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Cody Frye connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Ihara hunts down his opponent and throws 2 heavy haymakers that get nothing but air. Frye connects with a series of punches forcing "Cro Magnon" into a clinch. "Cro Magnon" drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. Frye attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. "Cro Magnon" connects with a hard jab as Cody Frye attempts a wide outside hook. A welt begins to form under Codys eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Akira Ihara. Frye feints and follows up with a hard cross. Ihara stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. Frye connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Cody Frye connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Ihara. Cody Frye starts to put on the pressure, forcing "Cro Magnon" back into the cage. Cody Frye takes advantage and clinches. Cody Frye works Akira into the cage from the clinch. Cody Frye presses his head under Akiras chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Cody Frye places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Cody Frye takes Iharas back standing. Akira isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Cody Frye lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Akira to release. Cody Frye is staggered by a jab to the chin. Frye dodges a jab and clinches with "Cro Magnon", delivering a knee as he does so. Cody lands a hook to the body then a straight cross to the sternum. Frye lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Ihara. Frye then switch kicks Ihara on the opposing rib. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 Akira connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. "Cro Magnon" eats a strong cross as Frye moves into the clinch. Frye attempts to grab the plum but is tripped to the floor by Akira who lands in his guard. Akira sits up in Codys open guard and spins to an leg lock. Cody Frye is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. After dodging a jab, Frye lands a kick to the ribs of Akira Ihara who winces in pain. Frye parries Akira Iharas jab and lands an uppercut. Cody Frye is pressed into the cage but lands a powerful uppercut and switches Ihara into the corner. Cody Frye steps back and lands a series of jab-crosses, then finishes Ihara with a knee to the sternum.
