Round 1 Lou Simmons narrowly dodges a cross from Hubbard, but falls catching him in his guard. Simmons connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Damian attempts to drop bombs while caught in the guard, but Simmons takes the chance to switch Damian over to mount him. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Hubbard reaches down and trips Lou with a beautiful ankle pick. Hubbard dives into back control. Simmons carefully protects himself from Damian Hubbards strikes. Simmons starts to wiggle out of back control, Hubbard lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Both fighters move in to strike but miss their marks. As they jockey for position in the clinch Damian wins the momentum battle and falls into side control on top of Lou Simmons. Hubbard slides his knee across the body of Lou Simmons and takes full mount. Damian Hubbard secures his position. Lou kicks off a leg and finds space off to the side and wraps around the body of Damian getting his back. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Damian Hubbard eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Lou. Simmons presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Hubbard, aggressively pulling guard. Damian Hubbard pushes down Simmonss leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Lou Simmons holds the head of Damian Hubbard close to avoid shots. Damian Hubbard slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. The round comes to an end.
Round 4 Lou Simmons takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Damian Hubbard feints a takedown attempt and connects with a left hook dropping Lou. Damian Hubbard dives into guard. Lou gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Lou goes to deep half guard and rocks forward then backward hitting a sweep on Hubbard and ending up in side control. Lou throws his knee into the ribs of Damian. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 5 Damian Hubbard feints a takedown attempt and connects with a left hook dropping Lou. Damian Hubbard dives into guard. Damian pushes down Simmonss leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Hubbard hits Lou Simmons with some punches to the side of the head. Damian presses his foot onto the thigh of Lou to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. Damian Hubbard lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Lou Simmons sneaks a leg back under the body of Hubbard to achieve a defensive half guard. Lou Simmons tries to scramble out of half guard, but Hubbard takes his back during it. Damian Hubbard slides to the side and spanks the butt of Lou in a sign of disrespect. The crowd laughs uncontrollably. Hubbard is working a furious pace on Lou, intermingling strikes with positional dominance at will. The bell signals the end of round 5.
