Round 1 Greg fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Jay. Greg ducks under to the back of Haynes and hops up getting both hooks in. Greg applies a deep choke. Haynes fights off the hands and spins around back into the clinch. Jay drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Greg Cook sets a guillotine choke but Jay slips out at the last moment. Jay is now caught in guard. Greg begins to work the rubber guard. Greg Cook attempts to lock an omoplata, but Jay is able to muscle his way back to the guard. Greg Cook begins to work the rubber guard. Jay Haynes attempts a huge overhand right but Greg bucks back and switches Jay Haynes into mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Jay Haynes connects with numerous jabs to the face of Greg Cook. A welt begins to form under Greg Cooks eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Jay. Greg Cook hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Haynes is hit with two hard punches to his face. Haynes laughs off the punches. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Both fighters begin to exchange Haynes catches Cook with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Cook gather himself. Cook says he is ok and the fight continues. Haynes presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto "Contortrix", aggressively pulling guard. Greg Cook frees a leg and moves into half guard. Cook laces the legs of Haynes giving Haynes the opportunity to somersault over and quickly wrapping up an omoplata. Cook somersaults over allowing Haynes to take side control. "Contortrix" sweeps over Jay Haynes and quickly obtains mount position. Greg Cook is pulled in tight, and then switched over on his back. Jay Haynes is now caught in Greg Cooks guard. A kimura attempt is defended well by Jay and he is able to sneak his leg through Greg Cooks loose guard, to half guard. Haynes is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Greg Cook bucks off Jay and both fighters get to their feet. Both fighters move in to strike but miss their marks. As they jockey for position in the clinch Greg wins the momentum battle and falls into side control on top of Jay Haynes. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 Greg Cook throws a push kick. Haynes shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Gregs nose.
A trip to the ground allows "Contortrix" to move into the guard of Haynes. Jay sinks a deep kimura, but Greg Cook slides out. This gives Jay the chance to switch to half guard. Jay sneaks his legs through and uses butterfly guard defense. Greg Cook is launched in the air and swept over into side control. Haynes delivers knees to the body and sharp forearms to the head forcing Greg Cook to turn over. Haynes takes the back. Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Jay connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Greg snaps back the head of Haynes with a stiff jab. Jay hits an uppercut to the head of "Contortrix" followed by a hard hook. Cook connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Haynes. Greg Cook narrowly dodges a cross from Haynes, but falls catching him in his guard. "Contortrix" starts to lock a triangle. Haynes postures up and Haynes settles for a few stiff chops to Gregs face. Jay Haynes distracts Greg Cook with peppering shots. Jay Haynes then isolates a leg and sinks a achilles lock. Greg Cook is able to force his way out but gives up mount in the ensuing scramble.Round 5 comes to a close.
