Round 1 A couple of powerful body shots forces Tadashi back to the cage. Vargas swims to double underhooks. Tadashi cannot stop Vargas from stepping back and taking him to the floor. Akimoto gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Tadashi tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Tadashi Akimoto defends short shots well by turning his head. Martim attempts to get a leg free and successfully moves into dominant side control. Tadashi Akimoto takes a few knees to the body while under Martims side control. Tadashi sneaks a leg back under the body of "Rusev" to achieve a defensive half guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 A trip to the ground allows Vargas to move into the guard of Akimoto. Tadashi Akimoto attempts a kimura from the bottom. "Rusev" blocks the attempt and smothers Tadashi Akimoto who transitions to an armbar attempt. "Rusev" is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. Tadashi throws his leg over for a tight armbar from the bottom. Vargas has to tap.
