Round 1 "Techno Viking" takes a punch and goes to the mat, Bruce pounces into side control. "Techno Viking" recovers quickly. Alexander Bierle is wisely defending a kimura. Epple attempts to take it but Alexander Bierle is having none of it, though Epple has used the chance the slide into mount. Epple secures his position. Bierle gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Epple locks in a body triangle as he takes shots at Alexander Bierle. Bruce Epple lays into Bierle with some strong shots forcing Bierle to give up mount position. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Bruce attempts a takedown, but cannot finish it. "Techno Viking" takes advantage of the moment taking side control. Alexander slides his knee across the body of Bruce Epple and takes full mount. Bruce attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Epple gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Bruce carefully protects himself from "Techno Vikings" strikes. Bruce is able to make it back to the standing position. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Epple connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. A trip to the ground allows Bruce to move into the guard of Alexander Bierle. Alexander Bierle gets his arm underneath the neck of Epple while putting his opposite arm on the back of the head. Epple powers out of the attempted choke. Bruce Epple presses the action while in the guard, but Alexander is able to switch him into mount. Alexander Bierle throws some outside strikes at Bruce. Bierle secures his position. Round 3 is finished.
Round 4 Bierle is staggered by a jab to the chin. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Bruce Epple slides in for a leg lock but Bierle is too strong and cant be taken down. Bierle bends over and lands some tough shots to the face of Bruce Epple, eventually falling into half guard. Alexander Bierle is able to work a leg through from the bottom to attain full guard. Bruce Epple keeps his head down in the chest of Alexander to avoid any submission attempts. Bruce Epple leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. Bruce pushes down Bierles leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Bruce slips out of half guard and into side control. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 Epple presses forward and grazes Alexander Bierle with a combo. Alexander Bierle wants none of the stand up and clinches with Epple to then savagely throw him down to the ground. "Techno Viking" stands over Bruce, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Bruce is able to grab an arm and pull "Techno Viking" into his guard. Alexander attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Epple slips out of it at the last moment. Alexander Bierle squeezes his knee through the closed guard of Bruce Epple and advances to mount with a knee through pass. Bierle punishes Bruce Epple with a series of strikes from the mount. Bruce Epple gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Giving up his back, Epple panics and gives up mount instead. Bruce Epple attempts to buck Bierle off from mount but Bierle keeps his base and maintains position. Round 5 is finished.
