Round 1 "The Apostle" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Lin shuffles away from Petersons strikes and lands a powerful chopping kick to the lead leg. "Pappy Mason" backs away, obviously feeling the affects of the kick. "The Apostle" throws a cross that easily dodged by Peterson. "Pappy Mason" snaps back the head of Lin with a stiff jab. Ning is staggered by a jab to the chin. Lin lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Rudy.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Peterson fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Lin to the cage. Lin swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Ning Lin is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Rudy. Rudy takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in "The Apostles" guard. It doesn't pay off as Ning Lin makes his way to standing. Rudy Peterson snaps back the head of Lin with a stiff jab. "Pappy Mason" is able to press Ning Lin to the cage, forcing a momentary clinch. Ning Lin wriggles out of the clinch and throws looping hooks to back "Pappy Mason" off. Rudy Peterson locks around the waist of Ning Lin. He sneaks his foot behind Lins and trips him to the floor, taking side control. Ning takes a few knees to the body while under Rudys side control. Peterson lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Ning Lin slips a cross from "Pappy Mason" and lands an uppercut to the liver. "Pappy Mason" throws a cross that easily dodged by Lin. "Pappy Mason" attempts a takedown but slips, and "The Apostle" backs away. "The Apostle" is standing over "Pappy Mason". "The Apostle" lays into Rudy Petersons thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. "Pappy Mason" does so. Lin parries "Pappy Masons" jab and lands an uppercut that floors Rudy. Ning Lin stands over Rudy Peterson, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Rudy Peterson cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. "The Apostle" kicks at the legs of "Pappy Mason" and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells "Pappy Mason" to stand. Lin lands a left hook, only to follow up with a strong kick to the ribs. The fighters circle each other. The round comes to an end.
Round 4 Lin is staggered by a jab to the chin. Ning Lin sends Peterson to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. "The Apostle" pulls out of the guard of Peterson, stands up, feels it out, and drops a huge right hand to the jaw of Peterson. Rudy sinks a kimura, but cannot finish. He settles for a switch into mount. Rudy Peterson punishes Ning Lin with a series of strikes from the mount. Peterson maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. The round comes to an end.
Round 5 Peterson connects with a strong right hook. Ning Lin narrowly dodges a cross from "Pappy Mason", but falls catching him in his guard. Ning Lin is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Rudy. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Rudy and he traps Lins extended leg to move to half guard. Ning Lin tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Rudy slips out of half guard and into side control. "The Apostle" gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Ning starts to wiggle out of back control, Rudy lets him escape putting them both on their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch.Round 5 comes to a close.
