Round 1
Hughes is staggered by a jab to the chin. "Hound Dog" throws a cross that easily dodged by Katashi. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Shinko escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Katashi Shinko stuffs a shot from Hughes and hits him with an outside body shot. Hughes gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Shinko takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Mike Hughess guard. It doesn't pay off as Mike makes his way to standing. Shinko presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Mike, aggressively pulling guard. Shinko sets in an omaplata, forcing Hughes to roll through, giving Shinko side control. Mike Hughes takes a few knees to the body while under Katashi Shinkos side control. "Hound Dog" is hit with a heavy knee to the liver and tries to scramble out of side control. Katashi scrambles well and takes Mikes back. Round 1 is over.

Round 2
Mike takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Mike throws a cross that easily dodged by Katashi. Katashi Shinko gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. Giving up his back, Shinko panics and gives up mount instead. Katashi attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Hughes swings his leg over locking in a textbook armbar. Shinko taps out.
