Brooks keeps Ward at a distance with some well timed jabs. Mick takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Ian escapes the clinch and creates some distance. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Mick. Ian stands up, lifting the leg of Mick and executing a trip takedown. "Eagle" takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Mick Wards guard. It doesn't pay off as Ward makes his way to standing. Brooks narrowly dodges a cross from Mick, but falls catching him in his guard. Ian sets in an omaplata, forcing Mick Ward to roll through, giving Ian side control. Mick Ward almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. Brooks switches his posture a bit, and sets in an arm triangle choke. Mick Ward turns purple then taps out.
