Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Fernandez attempts to grab the plum but is kept off balance by Dels strikes. Marc recieves a strong elbow opening up the clinch. Del Sherk parries Fernandezs jab and lands an uppercut. Del Sherk unleashes a flurry of punches on Marc. Marc Fernandez snaps back the head of Del Sherk with a stiff jab. Marc is met with a hook cross combo that staggers him. Sherk explodes with a flurry of punches. Marc is then thrown to the floor. Del Sherk lays into Fernandezs thighs with some well timed kicks while Fernandez is grounded. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Sherk takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Marc Fernandez stuffs a shot from Del Sherk and hits him with an outside body shot. Del Sherk gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Fernandez attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Sherk slips out of it at the last moment. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Marc and he traps Dels extended leg to move to half guard. Marc slams his knee into Del Sherks ribs. Marc Fernandez slams his knee into Dels ribs. Fernandez slams his knee into Sherks ribs. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Del eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Marc. The fighters circle each other. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Del Sherk attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Marc pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Marc Fernandez sends Del to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Marc takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Del Sherks guard. It doesn't pay off as Del makes his way to standing. Fernandez narrowly dodges a cross from Del Sherk, but falls catching him in his guard. Marc Fernandez sets in an omaplata, forcing Del Sherk to roll through, giving Marc Fernandez side control. Del Sherk takes a few knees to the body while under Fernandezs side control. Fernandez puts his knee on the belly of Del Sherk. Del Sherk punches up and Fernandez falls back with an armbar. Del Sherk taps out.
