Round 1 Cardoso takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Trey Lachance circles Joaquim, mixing jabs with body shots. Lachance grabs for a clinch but Joaquim Cardoso grazes him with an uppercut. Lachance staggers back, then surprises Joaquim Cardoso with a powerful superman punch. Trey circles Cardoso, landing jabs at will. Cardoso is staggered by a jab to the chin. Trey stuffs a shot from Joaquim Cardoso and lands some powerful outside hammerfists, eventually taking side mount. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Joaquim Cardoso stuffs a shot from Trey Lachance and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Trey Lachance gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Joaquim is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Trey shifts his head and hips to keep Joaquim off balance and unable to land strikes. Trey Lachance gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Joaquim tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Joaquim peppers Trey with several shots to the face. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 The fighters circle each other. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Joaquim receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Trey places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Trey escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Trey Lachance parries Joaquim Cardosos jab and connect with a cross. Lachance unleashes a flurry of punches on Joaquim Cardoso. Trey stuffs a shot from Cardoso and strikes two solid knees to his skull. Cardoso is stunned and Trey takes mount with in a quick scramble. Round 3 comes to a close.
