Round 1
Phil Thompson connects with a strong right hook. A left high kick from Phil Thompson keeps William Smith at bay. Smith is hit with a hook and a shovel punch and stumbles backward. "Butter Tart" explodes forward with a push kick that puts Smith on the canvas. Phil Thompson lays into "Canucky Wills" thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. "Canucky Will" does so. After dodging a jab, Phil Thompson lands a kick to the liver of "Canucky Will" who steps back only to take a knee. Phil Thompson rushes forward to capitalize but "Canucky Will" falls to his back to avoid the onslaught. A solid kick bruises the leg of William Smith. Phil lays into Williams thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. William Smith does so. Thompson weaves through a jab-cross combo but is met with a strong knee. Smith is rocked by a standing elbow strike. The round comes to an end.

Round 2
Williams legs are wobbled by a strong hook to the temple then a shovel punch to the jaw. Thompson fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with William Smith. William Smith drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Phil Thompson sets a guillotine choke but William Smith slips out at the last moment. William Smith is now caught in guard. Phil Thompson attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Butter Tart" connects with a stiff knee to the chin. William Smith is dazed on the mat. Smith thrusts his leg into "Butter Tarts" knee while grounded. The bell signals the end of round 2.

Round 3
Smith unleashes a flurry of punches on Phil Thompson. Thompson throws a cross that easily dodged by "Canucky Will". William Smith keeps Phil at a distance with some well timed jabs. "Butter Tart" lands a left hook, only to follow up with a strong kick to the ribs. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch.Round 3 comes to a close.
