Round 1 Checo is sent crashing to the mat by a powerful right hook. Gary Jodoin drops a huge strike to Ortegas chin, landing into his guard. While caught in the guard, Gary opens up a cut on Checo Ortega with a devestating elbow. "Juggernaut" passes through Checos guard into mount. Jodoin punishes Checo Ortega with a series of strikes from the mount. Checo Ortega gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Gary Jodoin lands a series of heavy punches forcing Checo to roll to his back, giving Gary Jodoin mount. Jodoin throws some outside strikes at Checo. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Ortega takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Checo is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Checo gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Checo Ortega grabs the plum and pulls "Juggernauts" face towards a powerful knee which is blocked. Checo Ortega lets go of the hold and lands a hook. Checo lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by "Juggernaut". Gary Jodoins legs are wobbled by a strong hook to the temple then a shovel punch to the jaw. Gary Jodoin is rocked by a standing elbow strike. Ortega presses forward landing a couple more strikes, but Gary Jodoin survives the onslaught with well timed blocks. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Gary Jodoin plows through Ortega with a driving double leg takedown. Ortega is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Gary takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Checo Ortegas guard. It doesn't pay off as Ortega makes his way to standing. "Juggernaut" circles Checo, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Gary circles Checo Ortega, mixing jabs with body shots. Gary Jodoin stuffs a shot from Ortega and lands some powerful outside hammerfists, eventually taking side mount. Gary Jodoin lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Checo almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment.Round 3 comes to a close.
