Round 1 Rodrigo Salazar is hit with a jab-cross and then brutally shoved to the ground. Patterson falls into his guard, delivering a strong punch as he does so. Rodrigo Salazar is caught in a can opener and opens his guard. He lands two quick strikes but Patterson transitions to half guard. "Bonesaw" is able to slip into mount from the half guard. "Bonesaw" splits Salazars nose open with a well timed punch. Rodrigo Salazar gets pummeled by the fists of Sam. Rodrigo Salazar gives up his back in an attempt to escape, but doesn't quite make it. Sam tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. "Bonesaw" peppers Rodrigo Salazar with several shots to the face. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 The fighters circle each other. A double-leg shot is stuffed initially by Sam Patterson, but Salazar is able to muscle through for a takedown. Rodrigo Salazar drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Salazar defends a triangle attempt, throwing Sam Pattersons straight leg over his head and makes a move for side control. "Bonesaw" is able to hold him to half guard. Rodrigo Salazar tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Patterson tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Rodrigo Salazar is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Rodrigo is staggered by a jab to the chin. Rodrigo is staggered by a jab to the chin. Salazar throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Sam puts Salazar on the mat giving his back up. Sam tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Rodrigo starts to wiggle out of back control, Sam Patterson lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Sam Patterson circles Salazar, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Salazar is staggered by a jab to the chin. Round 3 is finished.
