Round 1
Barnes circles Hector Gracie, landing jabs at will. Barnes sprawls a takedown attempt from "Dan Quisenberry". "Dan Quisenberry" eats several punches on the way back to his feet. Gil snaps back the head of Gracie with a stiff jab. Hector is staggered by a jab to the chin. Gil Barnes is staggered by a jab to the chin. The fighters circle each other. The round comes to an end.

Round 2
Gil circles "Dan Quisenberry", landing jabs and crosses at will. Gil eats a strong cross as "Dan Quisenberry" moves into the clinch. Hector Gracie escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Hector throws a few strikes allowing him to clinch with his opponent. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Gracie has double underhooks, locks across the body, and takes Barnes down to the mat, landing in great side control. Hector Gracie lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Barnes gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. The bell signals the end of round 2.

Round 3
Gil Barnes is staggered by a jab to the chin. Hector Gracie narrowly dodges a cross from Barnes, but falls catching him in his guard. "Dan Quisenberry" attempts an armbar from the bottom, but Gil Barnes slips out at the last moment. Barnes pushes down Hectors leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Round 3 comes to a close.
