Round 1 Maurice Carter snaps back the head of Paul Patterson with a stiff jab. "The Mazo" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Paul is met with a cross and a liver shot that staggers him. "The Mazo" explodes with a flurry of punches. Paul is then thrown to the floor. Carter lays into Pauls thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Paul does so. Patterson parries a jab but is caught by a sweeping leg kick that sends him to the floor. Maurice kicks at the thighs of Paul Patterson. Maurice Carter lays into Paul Pattersons thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Paul does so. Carter lands a hook to the body. Maurice Carter circles Paul Patterson, mixing jabs with body shots. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Paul connects with a series of punches forcing Maurice Carter into a clinch. An attempt at a clinch takedown from Carter is defended well by Paul Patterson. Carter grabs an overhook, steps to the side to land two haymaker body shots, then an uppercut. Carter returns to the clinch. Patterson escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Patterson attempts a takedown, but Maurice clumsily falls down without much provocation. Paul drops a huge strike to Maurice Carters chin, landing into his guard. Paul Patterson takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Maurice Carters guard. It doesn't pay off as Maurice makes his way to standing. Paul plows through Carter with a driving double leg takedown. Carter connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Paul Patterson passes through "The Mazos" guard into mount. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Maurice keeps Paul at a distance with some well timed jabs. Paul is cut open by a standing elbow strike. The ref stops the fight. The doctor take a look at the cut and determines Paul can continue. Paul Patterson sprawls a takedown attempt from "The Mazo". "The Mazo" eats several punches on the way back to his feet. Paul Patterson snaps back the head of Maurice with a stiff jab. Carter snaps back the head of Paul Patterson with a stiff jab. Paul throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from "The Mazo" puts Paul on the mat giving his back up. Round 3 comes to a close.
