Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. A stiff elbow looks to have Belov dazed. Fortunato Velasquez takes Yevgeni Belovs back standing. Belov isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Fortunato Velasquez lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Belov to release. A jab from Belov is blocked and a cross is returned by Fortunato. Belov hits an uppercut to the head of Fortunato Velasquez followed by a hard hook. Belov throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Fortunato puts Belov on the mat giving his back up. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Fortunato Velasquez counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. Velasquez circles Yevgeni, landing jabs at will. Fortunato keeps Yevgeni Belov at a distance with some well timed jabs. Yevgeni connects with a series of punches forcing Velasquez into a clinch. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Yevgeni Belov connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Yevgeni Belov presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Velasquez, aggressively pulling guard. Velasquez tries to move to half guard but Yevgeni Belov uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Fortunato Velasquez presses the action while in the guard, but Belov is able to switch him into mount. Velasquez attempts to buck Belov off from mount but Belov keeps his base and maintains position. Fortunato Velasquez gives his back up trying to escape the mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
