Round 1 Edu Mendez hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Rego. Mendez hits an uppercut to the head of Arnaldo Rego followed by a hard hook. Edu Mendez throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Arnaldo Rego is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Arnaldo Rego blocks a strong high kick from Mendez and counters with a devastating left hook. Edu is dizzied on his feet from a furious punching sequence from Arnaldo Rego. Arnaldo Rego tries to hyperextend the knee of Edu with a kick to the kneecap. Edu hops back to avoid it. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Rego connects with a hard punch making Edu bring him in to a tight clinch. Mendez receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Arnaldo. Mendez recieves a strong elbow opening up the clinch. Arnaldo Rego throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Mendez is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Edu hits an uppercut to the head of Arnaldo followed by a hard hook. A wild hook from Edu is ducked by Arnaldo Rego who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Rego unleashes a flurry of punches on Edu. Rego connects with a hard punch making Edu Mendez bring him in to a tight clinch. Arnaldo lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Rego works Mendez into the cage from the clinch. Rego presses his head under Edu Mendezs chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Edu Mendez takes Arnaldos back standing. Rego isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Edu Mendez lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Rego to release. Arnaldo lands a double jab. Arnaldo keeps Edu Mendez at a distance with some well timed jabs. Mendez is dizzied on his feet from a furious punching sequence from Rego. Arnaldo hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Edu Mendez. The bell signals the end of round 3.
