Round 1 Jamshid Mahdavi connects with a hard punch making Coyne bring him in to a tight clinch. Desrochers lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Coyne dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Mahdavi standing over him. Mahdavi stands over Coyne Desrochers, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Coyne Desrochers is able to grab an arm and pull Mahdavi into his guard. Coyne dodges some ground strikes from Jamshid Mahdavi, and sends a few back of his own. Jamshid Mahdavi tries to pass guard but Coyne Desrochers stops him with a well timed punch. Coyne Desrochers shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Jamshid and he traps Coynes extended leg to move to half guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Jamshid Mahdavi connects with a strong body shot combo. Coyne Desrochers narrowly dodges a cross from Mahdavi, but falls catching him in his guard. Coyne shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Coyne Desrochers tries to slide out of guard, but a scramble ensues. Mahdavi ends up mounted by Coyne Desrochers. Coyne Desrochers secures his position. Coyne swings his leg over locking in a textbook armbar. Jamshid taps out.
