Round 1 Ngg stuffs a shot from Kim Yi and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Kim gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Kim tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Joe slips out of half guard and into side control. Joe Ngg lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Ngg attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Kim for his troubles. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Joe Ngg snaps back the head of Kim Yi with a stiff jab. Ngg connects with numerous jabs to the face of Kim Yi. Ngg dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Kim throws a few jabs at Joe Ngg that miss the mark. A welt begins to form under Kim Yis eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Joe. Kim Yi hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 "Hnnnn" connects with a hard punch making Kim Yi bring him in to a tight clinch. Kim places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Joe Ngg dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Yi standing over him. Yi drops a huge strike to Joes chin, landing into his guard. Ngg goes for a kimura from the bottom, but Kim Yi slips out at the last second. Yi tries to move to half guard but Joe Ngg uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Joe Ngg is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. "Hnnnn" attempts an ambar from the guard. Kim Yi defends it but is switched to mount. The round comes to an end.
