Round 1 Andersen connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Jamshid Mahdavi shoots in on Andersen who sprawls well and lands multiple outside strikes. Jamshid Mahdavi gives up on the shot and rolls to his guard. Andreas opens up the guard and rises back to his feet. Andreas Andersen lays into Jamshid Mahdavis thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Jamshid does so. Andreas sends Jamshid Mahdavi to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Andreas Andersen backs out of the guard, and chooses to stand with his opponent, allowing him to his feet. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Jamshid Mahdavi fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Andreas Andersen. Mahdavi is able to work to two overhooks and lands some strong knees and short hooks. Jamshid Mahdavi takes Andreas Andersens back standing. Andreas isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Jamshid Mahdavi lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Andreas to release. Jamshid attempts a takedown, but Andreas clumsily falls down without much provocation. Mahdavi drops a huge strike to Andreas Andersens chin, landing into his guard. Jamshid Mahdavi sits up in Andreass open guard and spins to an leg lock. Andersen is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Jamshid slides in and grabs a leg lock taking Andreas Andersen to the ground. Jamshid works for a reverse heel hook but cannot finish and opts to enter Andreass guard. Mahdavi tries to move to half guard but Andreas uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. An arm-triangle attempt forces Andersen to open his guard. Mahdavi hops over Andersens leg to side mount but cannot finish the choke. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Jamshid Mahdavi connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Andreas Andersen. Jamshid hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Andersen winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Jamshid stuffs a shot from Andreas Andersen and lands several shots to his body. Andreas Andersen attempts to pull guard but Jamshid makes it to side mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
