Round 1 Drew attempts a takedown but slips, and Davis backs away. Davis is standing over Drew. Dave Davis attempts to drop a fist on Drew, but misses and lands in his guard. Dave tries to move to half guard but Drew Bryant uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Davis distracts Drew with peppering shots. Davis then isolates a leg and sinks a achilles lock. Drew is able to force his way out but gives up mount in the ensuing scramble. Dave Davis maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Drew Bryant gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Dave lays into Drew Bryant with some strong shots forcing Drew Bryant to give up mount position. Bryant attempts to buck Davis off from mount but Davis keeps his base and maintains position. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Dave Davis lands a double jab. Dave narrowly dodges a cross from Drew Bryant, but falls catching him in his guard. Dave grabs the arm of Drew while in guard and holds tight eating shots to ribs. Drew attempts to drop bombs while caught in the guard, but Dave Davis takes the chance to switch Drew over to mount him. Drew shifts his head and hips to keep Dave off balance and unable to land strikes. Drew pulls Dave Davis close to avoid a flurry of strikes.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Davis throws a hard jab but Drew Bryant throws a cross right over the top that knocks Davis to the ground. Bryant stands over Dave Davis, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Dave Davis is able to grab an arm and pull Bryant into his guard. Dave is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Bryant. Drew distracts Dave with some peppering shots. Drew then isolates a leg and falls back into a achilles lock. Dave is able to force his way out of it but gives up half guard in the ensuing scramble. Dave Davis goes to Z guard and shoots his head under the arm of Drew Bryant and attacks the leg for a knee bar. Drew Bryant spins out of the hold letting both fighters get to their feet. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Drew Bryant catches a leg kick from Dave Davis, and puts him on the mat. An arm-triangle attempt forces Dave to open his guard. Drew Bryant hops over Daves leg to side mount but cannot finish the choke. Drew Bryant attempts an armbar, but Davis stops the attempt. Drew Bryant uses the oppurtunity to take mount. Round 3 is finished.
