Round 1 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Pilar. Baraghani stands up, lifting the leg of Pilar and executing a trip takedown. Pilar begins to posture on his side. Baraghani lands a couple of outside hooks and Pilar returns to the guard. A kimura attempt is defended well by Hafez Baraghani and he is able to sneak his leg through Gonzaless loose guard, to half guard. Hafez tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Baraghani slams his knee into Gonzaless ribs. Hafez Baraghani slips out of half guard and into side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Gonzales keeps Hafez at a distance with some well timed jabs. Baraghani tries to stop a shot with a punch but Pilar Gonzales plows through Baraghanis attempt and ends up in guard. Gonzales dodges a few strikes from Hafez and cuts him open with a couple of powerful elbows. A can opener from Pilar Gonzales opens up Hafez Baraghanis guard. Pilar attempts to sink a neck crank from half guard. It does not appear to be tight enough as Hafez Baraghani gives a thumbs up to the referee until he finally struggles out. Pilar Gonzales covers the mouth and nose of Hafez Baraghani to effect his breathing. While in Z half guard Pilar Gonzales tries to pull his arm off the ground but Hafez Baraghani is too fast and uses an arm drag to spin and take his back. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Hafez attempts a takedown but slips, and Gonzales backs away. Gonzales is standing over Hafez. Pilar attempts to drop a fist on Hafez, but misses and lands in his guard. Gonzales tries to pass guard but Hafez stops him with a well timed punch. Pilar Gonzales passes through Hafezs guard into mount. Gonzales lands a double punch to the head of Hafez. Hafez gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Hafez eats a few stiff shots from Pilar, and rolls giving mount to stop the ref from ending the fight. Pilar secures his position. Round 3 comes to a close.
